*Colson's POV*
It's been two days since the Rodney incident. The police were never called. His Parents were contributors to the school, "too valuable", they said. That's what having more money than you know what to do with will sometimes get you. So instead Olivia agreed to the punishment of a month's suspension that would go on his record; he would have to attended meetings with the guidance counselor once a week until the end of the school year; and he'd have to complete some form of community service.
Why would Olivia and Mrs. Vines agree to that? Well Levi and I were the answer. Unbeknownst to Rodney's Parents and the school faculty, Olivia and Mrs. Vines agreed to let us beat the living shit out of Rodney. His Parents weren't happy when he came home with a missing tooth and two broken ribs but they also knew he deserved what he got so they let it slide. They'd buy him a new tooth anyways.
Nora and my Parents were furious when they discovered that we hid Olivia's original assault from them. They tried to file a police report but were told that since none of us could name her attacker there wasn't much they could do.
I hate the way our system works. Women are by far the strongest of the two sexes for so many reasons, we should be protecting them, not ignoring them when shit like this happens.
Olivia and Sawyer have been out of school since Tuesday. Sawyer stayed with her while our Parents were at work, and when one of our Parents got off, they would relieve Sawyer, letting her get some rest.
Besides sitting with her, me, Levi, and my Dad felt pretty useless. We don't understand what women go through sometimes and we didn't want to pretend like we did either. The Moms and Sawyer were what's best for Olivia right now. So when she asked us to go to school so that we could go to our flag football practices, we did as we were asked.

Levi and I got out of practice and headed towards his house. To be honest, our practices the last two days have been shit. My Father explained to our Coach the very minimum about what happened knowing that we would not be in the right head space at the moment. Olivia was our Coach's favorite student outside of football. He therefore took his anger out of the situation on the flag football team. He had us doing suicides until we puked.
I don't blame my Dad for telling either. Our Coach was bound to find out regardless, the school's Guidance Counselor is his wife.
Not many knew about what happened with Rodney. We wanted to keep Olivia's name out of the high school gossip. This incident stayed between those involved.
When we got to Levi's house we were told that Olivia was still refusing to eat anything or sleep. She loves food and sleep, if they weren't helping, I'm not sure what could. I even tried jelly beans and ice cream but she refused.
My heart has been in my stomach since Tuesday. To be perfectly honest, I hadn't really been eating either. The pain that came with seeing Olivia so despondent was overwhelming.
Both of our Moms were at the house. They were in the kitchen drinking coffee. Both Nora and my Mom looked so exhausted. Their eyes were red like they had been quietly crying. This was a mess. Perhaps if we would have told them what happened a few months ago this wouldn't be happening.
Then again, who would've thought that a guy would slam a girl on a locker and threaten to rape her. I mean who does that? And the worst thing about it, I highly doubt that was Rodney's first time being lower than dirt on our shoes. Who know's what he may have gotten away with in the past. Hopefully, every time he looks in the mirror at his teeth he'll think twice about being a world class dick.
