Everyone deserves a Cinderella moment. For a high school student, one of this moments come at Prom. In this generation, you apparently can't just ask someone to be your date, something called a 'promposal' was recommended.
People have just way too much time on their hands.
I did watch a few online and some of them were cute but they're still a little fancier then what anyone would normally expect.
Sawyer dragged me to some dress shop for prom shopping. I loathed shopping. I regret agreeing to go.
"Why am I here? I hate shopping and I hate dresses. I'd rather be home eating ice cream." I was whining. We'd been to store after store trying to find a dress. Nothing was Sawyer worthy.
Her words, not mine.
Sawyer turned from the body length mirror, lowering the dress she was holding up to herself. "It's 40 degrees out." She stated bluntly.
"We have heat at home."
Sawyer rolled her eyes and placed the dress back on the rack.
"How do you think Cole will ask you?"
I hadn't thought about it. Actually, do couples even ask each other? I thought it was some unspoken rule that you both would just go together.
Sawyer stopped walking in her tracks and gasped. "You don't think Tyler would ask do you?"
"1. That was a bit dramatic. And 2. Even if he did ask my answer would be no. I'd rather go with my Mom then go with him."
"Now who's being dramatic?"
I laughed. She was right, that was a bit dramatic but I had to get my point across.
"So what happens at these dances anyways?" To onlooker it would appear that I was looking at dresses on the rack. But honestly I was just absentmindedly skimming through them, not actually looking at any of them.
"I keep forgetting you've never been to one." Sawyer went through another random rack of dresses. "Basically they're like the balls in that movie you love so much. Only without the synchronized dancing."
Sawyer started skimming through the racks again. Not finding anything that she liked we exited the store and were on to the the next. She stopped walking abruptly once again. Not paying attention, I ran into the back of her.
"You have got to stop doing that." I snapped.
"There it is." She placed her hand over her heart.
"There what is?"I tried to follow her eyes but I was failing at that task.
"Your dress." She walked over to the dress on the mannequin.
"My dress?" I wasn't aware that we were looking for me.
I looked at the dress she was speaking of. "It is pretty. But no."
I turned my back to her and started to walk out of the store.
"Olivia." The sound of my name halted my movements.
"It has pockets." She hummed with an ear to ear smile.
Damnit! She said the magic words.

When I woke up the next morning the weekend weighed heavenly on me. I have no idea why I woke up so early. No one in the house was awake yet so I tried my best to creep down the stairs.
