It's Halloween Season! Technically it has been Halloween season all month long but the start of this month was tragic so I sort of forgot it was October. It happens.
Tomorrow is All Hallows' Eve, or Halloween as the kids like to call it these days. Levi isn't allowed to go to his usual festivities. I'm told that he and Colson normally go trick or treating and then go to some party. Our Mom vetoed both options this year.
His leg is still broken, his ribs are still cracked and he suffered from a herniated disc but his injuries are healing nicely. So tomorrow night our Mom has him on candy duty. Luckily, if the team makes it through playoffs, he'll be ready a week before the Championship game.
"You should go to the party with Sawyer." Levi tried to get me out of the house. I guess I was smothering him but I didn't care. I'd smother until I couldn't smother anymore.
He almost died. The wounds were still fresh in my mind. No way was I going to leave him alone.
Since his accident I've been having nightmares again. Seeing the two officers arrive at our door with news of Levi brought back the memory of the army officers who came to our door in Italy letting us know that my Dad had been killed in action.
The nightmares were blending together. Sometimes it would be my Dad in Levi's ICU room instead of Levi. Sometimes the army officers would tell me and my Step-Mom that it was Levi who had been killed.
I wasn't getting much sleep because of it. I was afraid to drift off and see the scenes unfold. I was losing even more weight. I returned to soccer though. I was trying to keep some normalcy in my life to help me move forward. The only time I was free from it all was when I was on the soccer field.
I'm getting off track here though. I zoned out while Levi and Colson were arguing over whether Colson should go to Nicole's Halloween Party. Levi's vote was for, Colson's, against. Sawyer could care less. She was going to the party because Chloe was going to the party. She hasn't gotten to spend much time with her lately because Sawyer has been by my side since the accident. I told her that I was fine but she wouldn't believe me.
"What are you wearing again?" Sawyer asked.
"Who said I was going?"
"Me!" Sawyer and Levi said in unison. When did he join our conversation? Wasn't he arguing with Colson?
I glared at them both. I hate when they gang up on me.
"Fine. I'll go if Colson goes." I said this hoping that Colson wouldn't go allowing me to stay home.
"Oh he's going." Levi shot his best friend a look.
"So what are you wearing again?" Sawyer repeated her question.
I sighed. "I'm supposed to be Wonder Woman."
Sawyer smiled at me. "Very fitting."
"No actually the costume isn't that tight. I mean I can breathe in it and everything."
Sawyer laughed at my innocence. "No Sweetie, just that you chose to be Wonder Woman."
"I love Gal Gadot. It's a great movie." I exclaimed, still not understanding what she was getting at.
Sawyer smacked me on the back of the head. "Olivia! You're our Wonder Woman."
"I know, the costume's in my closet."
Sawyer gave up. "Ah forget it."
"What? Am I missing something here?"
"YES!" They all yelled together.
