I'm not sure how I ended up having to take a note to the Art History teacher for my Marine Biology teacher but here I was, walking an unknown path towards another building on campus.
Have they not heard of email?
Or is it a 'special note'?
Great! Now I want to read it.
I had almost completed my task until I accidentally bumped into a familiar face. I knew I had seen the face before but I couldn't place it.
"I'm sorry." I bounced off of him slightly.
He turned around to face the intruder with a smile only for his smile to drop once he saw who had bumped into him. "Oh it's you." He grumbled.
My head snapped back a bit surprised by his tone.
"What's your problem?" A deep voice asked that came with a hint of warning to 'cool it'.
The guy ignored the voice. "You changed Isabelle." He barked rather loudly. I studied his features. Where have I seen this guy before?
My mouth dropped. "I did nothing of the sort."
"Yeah you did." He was sounding like a child now arguing with a sibling over who ate the last cookie.
"We didn't do anything to her that she wasn't comfortable with." I was stating facts. I was there the entire time to make sure that everything went as Isabelle wanted, never straying.
"She didn't need a makeover. She was fine before." He didn't seem angry anymore, he seemed, sad about her transformation. That's when I recognized the boy I had bumped into. It was Daniel, the boy I met on my first day at the high school.
I was about to defend myself again but a strong arm wrapped around my body and covered my mouth with his other hand. He pulled me back a few feet away, out of hearing range from Daniel.
He whispered into the shell of my ear. "I'm going to remove my hand now." I nodded my head up and down and he slowly removed his hand.
I punched his arm. "Ow!" He began to rub the spot I hit.
"What was that for?" I didn't know why, but I was whispering too.
"I needed to tell you something away from prying ears." He motioned his head towards Daniel hoping I'd get the message.
My face scrunched up. I didn't understand the message.
"He likes her." He said this as if it were obvious.
I wasn't catching on. "He likes who?"
He gently thumped me on my forehead. "Olivia catch up. Daniel likes Isabelle."
I stood there for a moment. Not moving. Not blinking.
Suddenly my mouth formed an 'O' shape. How could I have missed that? He liked the old Isabelle, the Isabelle before Sawyer and I got our hands on her.
Well, technically Sawyer. I was more of a bystander. But still, an accomplice to the crime.
"Well what am I supposed to do now, Izzy loves the way she looks?" I was still whispering and still had no idea why, Daniel had already entered the art room.
"Maybe we could help him seal the deal." Colson suggested.
I lifted my head in thought. "I don't know. They don't really seem like the type to just jump into sex."
Colson chuckled. "No you dork. We help him get the girl. You know Isabelle, I'll get to know Daniel and we set them up."
My face contorted. "Have you ever seen the movie 'Set Up', it doesn't end well for the people that they set up."
