"Nora what were the ingredients for Buttery Garlic Baked Pork Tenderloins again?" Sawyer was trying to read off of the recipe book as I came into the kitchen.
My Mom joined me at the island rummaging through the bags. "Did you get everything?"
"Sure did." I began to search the cabinets for the pots and pans that I would need.
"Liv Sweetie, these aren't the ingredients I gave you for Pork Tenderloin." My Mom's face looked disappointed as she searched the bags.
"Nope but they are for spaghetti." Sawyer laughed at me.
"Honey!"
"I started to get the stuff off of the list but the more stuff I got, the more complicated it seemed so I thought, why not spaghetti? Sawyer couldn't mess that up even if she tried."
Seriously, the hardest part is waiting for the water to boil because it gets boring.
"She's right Nora. If you all want to survive the meal, better go safe than sorry."
My Mom laughed at the two of us. "You guys are something else. I like Spaghetti better anyways." She left the kitchen as our house phone started to ring. My Mom answered it and entered the kitchen. She placed the phone in my hand. "Sweetie it's your brother."
Why's he calling me on the house phone? This phone's for spam callers.
"Hey Ollie, could you come get us?"
"Where are you?"
"You're not going to like it."

"Were you guys even sober?" I crossed my arms in front of my body.
Levi looked at Colson, who looked at Lewis, who looked at John.
"We were.... functional." Levi took too long to say those three words.
I looked at the morons before me. "I'll take that as a no."
A baby dinosaur like sound came out of the room.
My head tilted to the side in confusion. "How'd you even get him in there?"
"We have absolutely no idea." Colson ran his hands through his hair, trying to recall the events of the night.
"What the hell are we supposed to do with a freakin Emu?"
"Actually that's an Ostrich." I corrected Sawyer. Getting our facts straight when we all get arrested is important.
"Whatever. That big ass animal has no business being in our Principal's office." She grumbled her words as she tried hard not to yell at the guys.
"I for one am happy that you guys didn't know that tomorrow was a teacher workday. Now we have an entire extra day to figure out how to get him out and where he came from." For once I'm thankful none of these guys look at the school calendar.
"How do you know it's a 'him'?". John asked, staring at the large bird tearing up the office.
"What?" The word came harsh out of my mouth.
"Well I mean, it could be a girl and not a boy." John uttered his point to us.
"Is that really what's important right now?" Sawyer asked, ready to smack them all on the head.
I don't even think that I'd stop her. Maybe it'd knock some sense into them.
"No. Sorry." John mumbled his apology and looked down at the ground.
