It's almost the end of the month, which means I have almost survived my first few weeks of school. I just had to get through the next couple of days and I would have survived without incident.
Lunch was becoming less of a pain but I still would have preferred to spend time away from my brother and his stupid entourage, excluding Colson that is.
The girls at the table still don't really like me which isn't very fair because they don't even know me. Stacey's the exception but she has her hands full with John. That dude's such a character.
"So we're still on for after the game right?" Colson asked me.
"I guess but I still don't wanna." I whined.
"Why not? It'll be fun." He frowned a little and playfully stuck out his bottom lip.
I reached across the table and slid a chip across it. "Yuck! Sour cream and onion." He started to gulp down his drink trying to get rid of the taste.
Nicole and Brittany watched us intensively as Colson and I interacted. I'm not sure what their problem was. This was how we always acted towards each other. Flirty, silly, and never crossing that line of something more.
"Oh yeah, that reminds me. I can't go." Levi had perfect timing. I'm sure the idea of Colson and I being alone didn't bother the resident blonde and brunette bitch at all.
"What do you mean? We've been planning this for weeks?" Colson asked a little disappointed.
Levi just shrugged, unbothered. "Something came up."
Colson and I looked at each other. "Girl." We said at the same time.
"Well Little J, it's just you and me."
"I can't go either." I pretended to cough.
"I'll pick you up after I shower from the game." He grabbed his lunch just as the bell rang and threw it in the trash.

"I don't know about this." If I was coming out as nervous, it's because I was.
"You'll be fine."
"But it's so... high." I gulped, trying to remember to breathe.
He chuckled. "Don't tell me you're afraid of heights."
"Okay, I won't tell you."
He laughed at me and just grabbed my hand, pulling me up the ladder.
I looked at the rust from the ladder and cringed. "Are you sure this thing is safe?"
"Not at all."
As we climbed I did the dumbest thing anyone who's afraid of heights could do, I looked down. The sight almost caused me to lose my balance but Colson caught me by the hip, stabling me. His touch was electrifying. It reminded me that I was safe, but my mind was still thinking that I was going to die.
"Are you sure we're allowed to be up here?" My eyes were closed. We had reached our destination but as soon as I opened my eyes I would have to accept how high we were.
"Not really." Colson put his paint cans and ropes out in front of him and looked at the huge, empty billboard.
"Great, so not only am I going to die, I'm going to jail too." I was freaking out and I was not even trying to hide it.
"Olivia look at me." I obeyed. "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." He was sincere and his words helped calm me a little.
He placed his hands on my shoulders from behind me. He leaned forward and rested his head in the crook of my neck. "Breathe Ollie. And don't look down." I was trying to remember how to but it wasn't because of my fear of heights. For some reason, his touch and close proximity was igniting something strange inside of me.
