You know when you go somewhere and something just feels off? That's how I was feeling right now.
Tyler had invited me to his Grandparents house to talk. The entire week he kept apologizing profusely and asked for a chance to make things right.
There wasn't anything wrong with hearing him out. And I always had my Jiu Jitsu and my handy dandy pepper spray if things go wrong. Who needs a notebook when you have a weapon?
However, once I got to the house, the house was filled with people I didn't know. It wasn't a party, nor did it seem like a get together. By the way everyone was acting, it kind of seemed like it was about to be an orgy.
Why would Tyler invite me here? Was this is way of getting me back for pepper spraying him? Then there's the not sleeping with him. I seriously need to break up with this tool.
It took me a while but I finally came across a friendly face. It was Sean, Tyler's best friend.
"Hey Sean, do you know where Tyler is, he isn't responding to my texts?"
"Oh hey Olivia. Yeah, he said to keep you company and he'd be here soon." Sean shrugged it off like this was normal but this situation seemed like anything but.
"Do you want something to drink?" Sean tried to hand me an open cup of alcohol but I declined it. I don't do open drinks.
I decide that I should maybe walk around and try to find Tyler just in case Sean missed his arrival. The house was huge. It also didn't seem like a house that a Grandparent would live in. Everything was just too modern. Too new.
I took a look at my phone, it's been 30 minutes and all Tyler has texted was that he was sorry that he was late and that he'd be here soon.
I was ready to leave. I wasn't comfortable being here. Especially with people I didn't know. I went back into the kitchen to let Sean know that I was leaving and to let Tyler know for me.
"You want a cupcake?" Sean offered, stuffing one in his mouth as he did.
"Why not?" I took the cupcake and downed it. It tasted really good.
"Who made these?" My mouth was full but I didn't care. It was just Sean.
"I think Tyler's Grandma."
"Okay. Well I think I'm going to leave. Tyler's 40 minutes late and I'm not in the mood anymore."
Sean nodded his head but asked to give his friend a little more time.
Against my better judgement, I decided to walk upstairs instead of leaving. I kept opening each door until I found an empty room.
I looked around. The room was basic. There were books in shelves. The Classics. Two nightstands that held lamps, and a dresser. There wasn't anything on the walls though. Nothing to distract the mind.
My eyes started to feel heavy which was odd because I didn't drink anything. I was sure not to. But here I was, feeling tired.
I pull out my phone and dialed Colson.
"Hello"
"Hey Cole, are you busy?"
"No, just hanging out with your Brother, Nic, and Brittany. What's up?"
