"Do you still have classes to attend to, hija?"

Tita Veronica and I are both watching as the waiter placed our orders on our table. I answered her when we were left alone.

"Wala na po. I was about to go home when I received your message," I said and smiled a bit.

Tumango siya at sumimsim ng tsaa. I watched her as she did.

"You'll be graduating soon. What are your plans after college?"

"I will work on our Airlines po.

One of her eyebrows shot up. "I see..."

We we're both silent for a brief while.

And I must say, Tita Veronica has a scary aura in her whenever she's this serious. Although, I already had a glimpse of this side of her that night. Iba pa rin ngayong seryosong seryoso siya.

I smiled again when she looked back up to me.

I am not nervous though. I'm trying my best to act nice.

So here I am, acting like a beautiful perfect soon-to-be daughter in law to her. Though the beautiful part is true. No, a fact.

On the contrary, Tita Veronica never smiled even for a bit since I came here. Nananatili siyang seryoso.

"I noticed, your Father always makes the decisions for you?"

Hindi ako nakasagot.

"You know, my son, Liam, he decided on his own to help his Father and to work on our company at a very young age,"

I don't know if it's just me, or does it really sound like an insult?

He wants me to finish college first before working."

She nodded a bit. "Your Tito William was against Liam too, at first. But when he saw his determination and eagerness to help, he let him and so did I."

Her eyes drifted down on my body, on my uniform.

"This year, ga-graduate kana ng college at ang anak ko nama'y ga-graduate ng Senior High..." her eyes went up to mine. "You're twenty one while he's turning eighteen."

I keep on reminding myself to act nicely in front of her dahil nararamdaman ko na ang unti-unting pagusbong ng sungay sa aking noo.

"Don't get me wrong, hija. I don't want to imply anything here. I just want to state the gap between you and my son."

Mapait akong ngumiti. "You don't have to, Tita.

She didn't speak. It made me look back at her. My eyes widened a bit when I saw her smile for the first time today. She even laughed a bit.

"I was actually troubled on that part.
