I felt uneasy after our conversation. May parte sa akin na gustong umuwi na kaagad upang malaman ang nangyayari kanila Dad at Mommy. However, the fear is still running through my system together with the thought that if I go back to Manila, I'll start living my life the way I was before again-having no freedom, at sunod-sunuran lang sa lahat ng utos ni Daddy.

But then, I know sooner or later, I have to go back. Hindi pwedeng habang buhay ko nalang tatakbuhan ang totoo kong buhay. I will never be at ease if I continue on running away from my problems. I have to face it so I could move forward.

Samuel called me later that night. I was torn whether if I should tell him about what I did; contacting Anthony and the things we talked about through chat, or not. But in the end, I decided not to. Especially when I heard his tired voice over the phone.

"How was your day?" he asked.

"It was fine. Nakausap ko na din sila Tomas. They let me continue working at the restaurant habang nandito pa ako," I paused a bit before asking, "Ikaw, kamusta? Is Erwin Falcutila still mad at you?"

I heard him sighed heavily. Maybe he now regrets telling me about how Erwin, Emmanuel Falcutila's father got furious when he heard that Upside Furnitures is going on bankruptcy. He was disappointed with his son, and of course, with Samuel too 'cuz he was the one who presented the idea of lending the said company millions while promising them that they will benefit from it in the near future, and later persuade them to merged with it.

I know he has the right to react that way but, knowing the real reason why Samuel persuade them to make those decisions makes me feel so guilty. He did it for my sake and now that his plans are falling apart, he's taking all the blame for it.

"No, he's not. Don't worry about it, Faith,"

Naningkit ang mga mata ko. I sensed he's lying but if he doesn't want to talk about it then, it's the least I can help him so.

We talked about some other things instead, mostly patungkol sa 'kin. Hindi rin ganoon katagal ang naging paguusap namin nang tawagin siya ng kung sino. He was really busy even at this time.

"I'll call again tomorrow," he said. "Good night, Faith."

"Good night, Sam," with that he ended the call. I sighed.

Nilapag ko ang cellphone sa gilid ng aking higaan at sandaling napatitig sa kisame ng aking silid. There's no way what Anthony told me was true. Sam is troubled by the current state of Upside Furnitures, and he already told me his reasons why he made a deal with Dad. Imposibleng niloloko niya si Dad. I mean, why would he? I can't see any reason for him to branwash Daddy. Austria Airlines and ANA are now merged. Imposible din namang gawin niya ang ginawa nila sa Upside Furnitures (which is to totally lead the company by kicking out the current CEO) especially now that he has some fued going on with the old Falcutila. There must be a misunderstanding.

Sitting alone on a two-seater table, I was sipping on my drink when I spotted a black SUV. Agad akong napatuwid ng upo. I sighed and relaxed nang lagpasan niya ang café na kinaroroonan ko.

Today is Monday, lucikly for me, it's my day off, ngayon kasi ang araw na napagkasunduan naming magkita ni Anthony. Bagaman pumayag siya na itago muna kanila Tito at sa mga pinsan namin ang tungkol sa akin, he insisted on visiting me today. Hindi na ako tumanggi pa, bukod sa may mga bagay akong gustong itanong sa kaniya, I know for sure that he won't stop bugging me until I agree on meeting up with him.

Bumugtong hininga ako. Oh well, I missed my cousin too, and I think it's safe to meet up with him so I guess it will be fine.

Nguling binalot ng kaba ang aking sistema nang may black SUV na nag park sa harap ng café. My heart pounded in nervousness at first when the door on the driver's side opened. Nguni't nang makita ang lumabas mula doon ay sandaling naglaho ang kabang nararamdaman.
