Chapter 12 : The only magnet I can't control

In the following days, they trained Lanniya's power. After some weeks, she could use it perfectly. Kid was thinking about a way to make an army of skeletons, but it was just a plan for the moment. The crew was almost always partying at night. They even invited women on board, which Lanniya didn't especially liked. She suspected Kid to want to make her mad.

Previously, they would go in the bars on the islands, but since she had had often affairs with men, Kid didn't want to do it anymore. It was OK to party, but on the boat only. Lanniya was known to be rude towards the women that came, especially the ones that were too close to Kid.

The truth was that Kid was really attracted by her. He wanted to touch her body and to have her just for him so badly, but he knew she was a free spirit and she would never agree on such a relationship. So he tried to drown his attraction with other women. He wasn't satisfied : first, they were not Lanniya, second, she had begun to be mean to him because of that.

That night, there were no women, and Lanniya was less mean than in the previous weeks. As usual when she drank, she had become the center of attention by saying things shocking the others. She was cocky and flirty when tipsy and she talked openly about her best and worst one night stands and what men should do to pleasure women. Kid was fed up with that. Maybe he was just extremely jealous about the men that had had the pleasure to share a night with her. Lanniya was disappointed to see him leave like that. She hoped that with everything she had said, he would try something.

The third thing that happened when she was tipsy was depression. All of a sudden, she would become silent and soon after, go away to sober up a little bit and thinking about deep things. She left for a moment and sat in an isolated corner. As she looked at the stars, the only thing coming to her mind was Kid. She looked at her shorts and heels. She always buttoned the less buttons as possible but nothing changed. She sighed. She didn't know why she kept on trying. He was not that kind of guy. He saw her as a second Killer, someone he could trust, a fighter. She stood up and decided to drink more to forget these thoughts.

As she was walking slowly and shivering, Kid came from the opposite direction. When he was mad at something, he would go and walk away. When he saw Lanniya, her pale skin shining at the moonlight, he tried to be more angry, but he couldn't. There was something stronger than that. Obviously, her ways would cross in a few steps. Why was she so damn sexy all the time ? Every time, he was looking at her in the shower but she would do nothing to avoid him. Was she that careless about him ?

- Hey, captain, she said with a smirk.

She wanted to say something else, but nothing came out.

- Want to drink with me ? I'm feeling down right now.

- You're just tipsy, Lanniya, he said with stiffness.

He hated when she was like that and flirting with everybody else but him.

- And anyway, you will hate me if something happens.

- As you wish, she said, cursing inside. Since you know my thoughts better than I do.

Lanniya tried to avoid him by walking faster, but he caught her before. Her last sentence had lit up something in him. He was angry, he could not contain it anymore. He pressed her rudely against the wall, holding her arms so that she couldn't move. He put one hand behind her ear and leant closer.

- I'm sorry, pretty face. I can't take it anymore.

While Lanniya was still wondering what was happening, he roughly pressed his lips on hers. At first, she was shocked, not knowing what to do.

Finally.

It was the only thing that crossed her mind. She closed her eyes and wanted to cup his neck to force him to kiss her deeper. But he pulled out and cursed. Next thing she knew, he was going away towards the others, leaving her alone with the feelings of his lips and the weight of his body on hers. She slowly touched her lips and laughed.

- I see, she smirked for yourself.

And she sighed, happier as ever. As the party went on, she was cautious to only flirt with her captain.

That's what I want, captain. And I know you are willing to give it to me. So why should we wait ?
