Chapter 25 : The Strawhat

Lanniya hid under the big rock. It worked pretty well, it had enough place to be hidden and not let any traces. She placed her skeletons in strategic places all around Udon. Her goal was to spy at day and haunt at night. With the combined rumors about a criminal and ghosts, she could do whatever she wanted.

At the first day, she was surprised to see how much work Kid was able to do. Even if he had lost his artificial arm and that he had handcuffs in marine granit, he was carrying so much stones that he had a lot of millet balls to eat afterwards. She smiled. Yeah, he was fucking their system and it was pleasing to see. He was not near to abdicate to Kaido.

There was also another man that Lanniya recognized. There was Strawhat Luffy. She couldn't believe it. Since the incident in Sabaody, he had become the strongest Supernova and people even talked about him as a new Yonko. She was surprised to see him.

I should've guessed it. After Big Mom, he must've tried to defeat Kaido. It's strange that we haven't heard about him before.

As the days went by, it became amusing to see the interactions between Kid and the Strawhat. They both liked to eat a lot, so they were competing against each other to work the most. Even if the situation was dramatic, they made her laugh a lot. Strawhat was really strong. Lanniya couldn't help but think that they really had to flee from Wano before he escaped.

When night was coming, Lanniya would make her skeletons wander, appear and disappear to make them look like ghosts. It worked pretty well, but she never showed herself and never went to Kid. However, he knew she was there and waited. When she finally understood the rounds of guard, she decided to go and see him. She sent some skeletons on the other side and when she was sure that they were far enough, she jumped down and went to the cells. She knew where Kid's cell was. Beside the Strawhat's one.

Lanniya didn't know it, but Luffy was watching her coming. Once in front of Kid's cell, she took off her mask. He was apparently waiting for her.

- Hi, Crane.

- Oi, Ruffled, you know her ? asked Luffy pretty loudly.

She hit the bars with her scythe, almost cutting his nose.

- Forget about me, she said. It will be better for you.

- Wow, a scythe !

She sighed. He really was stupid.

- Wanna join my crew ? he asked.

Kid punched him immediately.

- Be nice and let us talk.

- What a bad luck you had to be stuck with him, she commented while sitting on the floor.

- Forget him. So you are alive ?

- I couldn't die there. I'm the only one who can save us.

- Are the others alright ? How is Killer ?

She looked away, hiding her face. Her eyes were becoming teary. She didn't want to tell him what happened.

- I can't tell you. He is alive.

She stood up. She knew she couldn't stay there forever.

- We need to get you out of here.

- I'm in.

- I'll come back in a couple of days. I need to tell the others so you can plan better.

A noise caught her attention. The guards were coming back. She needed to hide her skeleton.

- I have to go.

A second later, she was running away. Kid tried to keep her back. He tried to grab her shirt but she was gone.

- Wait, Crane...

When he saw her shadow in the moon, he sighed. He felt lonely all of a sudden. He wanted to see them all again and go away from there. While he was thinking, Luffy interrupted him.

- She is cool. Can I borrow her ?

Kid muttered and punched him again. Borrow Lanniya ? He would never do it. Even if he wanted to beat Kaido, he wanted to be with his crew again and go on the seas. He was ready to give up on his dream to be free with her again.
