Chapter 6 : Used

Lanniya was now on the last island before the Sabaody archipel and Kid looked more and more nervous. An evening, he was even alone sitting on an edge of the ship when all the others were sitting around a fire on the beach. Since Lanniya had started to talk more to the others on the ship, she was sitting with the crew drinking sake. He caught her sideview and she couldn't resist to ask herself why he was sitting alone when there was alcohol. She stood up and went to him. She sat in front of him and looked at him straight. He was looking at the ocean and looked almost worried which was very unusual.

- What are you worried at, captain ?

She was now as serious as him.

- We are getting closer to the Sabaody Islands.

- I know. You told me you would need my services soon.

- Do I always have your support ?

- Of course. You're my captain.

- The crew does not always obey to the captain, he said looking at her with a small smirk.

- Then consider yourself lucky that I'm here.

- Says the girl who didn't want to enter my crew, he said with his usual sassy look Lanniya liked so much.

She laughed and Kid couldn't help to smile.

- You know, people can change their mind, she said being sassy too.

The silent went back and her smile faded away. She was thinking about the reasons her captain could be worried.

- Is it about the mission you want to give me ?

- Your mission is a part of it. It is a bigger plan.

- Which is ?

He looked at her suspiciously.

- Don't look at me like that. You used to tell me and Killer your plans even if I don't know why you trust me that much.

Surprisingly, a small and soft smile went on Kid's face.

- I want to build an alliance with powerful pirates. Not that I'm afraid of the New World, but some protection would not be useless I think.

- Do you think it will work ?

- We should try at least.

- So what do you want me to do ?

- I invited Blackbeard on our ship to negotiate the alliance. Since he is a Sichibukai, it is the best we can have.

Lanniya did not say a thing since she knew her captain would feel it immediately if she lied about her feelings on this plan.

- Since everything has to be perfect, I thought it would help the negotiation to give him a pretty and sexy servant during the couple hours we will be talking. All you will have to do is serve us while we are talking.

He didn't seem to have any problem with risking her integrity for an illusional alliance.

- Was it the reason why you wanted me on your ship ? Just to get an alliance when you are one of the most powerful pirate ?

She felt betrayed and hurt. She stood up and walked further on the deck, her back facing him.

- No, he said fiercefully. Why would you think something like that ?

- I don't know, you're a pirate after all, she said ready to leave.

- Will you still do it for me ?
