As their journey continued, they fought a lot of other ships, luckily no Marines. Kid said it was because they hadn't done anything reprehensive these times. He even looked at Lanniya as he said so, as if she was responsible of it.

- You can do as much reprehensive things as you want, she laughed. You had the proof I am no angel.

Kid smiled mischieviously, thinking about future plans. Killer laughed loudly.

- I didn't know you were as psycho as we are.

- You use big words with me. Not being afraid to kill doesn't make you a dangerous person.

- Lanniya, you are somehow dangerous, said Kid.

She smiled teasingly.

- It depends on what things.

- I would say all of them.

- I am glad you like to always have a dangerous woman by your side, then.

- Those are rare these times.

- All women on Grand Line are dangerous, she replied.

- They can fight better, for sure, said Killer.

She jumped, ready to attack him but Kid held her back.

- They are not as smart, too, he said, hoping it would calm you down.

Lanniya looked at him. He never complimented her on things like that before. He pushed her back to her seat.

- I think we are ready to prepare our ship to go in the New World, he continued. This will be a rough journey.

She smiled sassily for herself. As the day continued, she went on her own business : sharpening her blade, training on her own and looking at the ocean. As she was training, Kid went to her with a huge sword.

-Should I be worried ? she said when you saw him staring silently at her with a big sword.

-No. At least not for now. I'm coming to train you.

The sun was setting in the far. Lanniya smiled sassily at him with her short hair being blown in every directions by the wind. He smiled back with a kind of smooth look in his glare. It made her blush slightly and she looked away for a second.

-Shall we begin ?

-If you promise you won't kill me.

-Don't worry pretty face.

They both faced for a moment before Lanniya attacked him. He blocked her with strength but she continued attacking again and again. He stepped forward and she had not enough strength to keep up. Soon, she was almost bumping into the back of the desk. She started to become fiercer, grinning and trying desperately to push him back. With no surprise, it didn't work. He finally let her.

-You gotta train harder. Your pretty face is not gonna save you.

She knew that she was training a lot. What he said felt like a heavy rain of stones on her. She threw her blade aside.

-I'm doing so much yet ! I'm not a strong girl, my body is not made to fight. I swear to you that I'm working hard to improve.

He slowly went to her as she was sitting on te floor, discouraged.

-You're doing great, but you can improve much more. I will help you if needed.

Lanniya hated to ask people for help but on the other side, she really needed his help. Her grip on her sleeves tightened. Kid went to ask Killer if he could bring food for the two of them. Knowing her, she would not want to eat with the others because of her mood. When he went back, he sat down next to her.

-I know you're used to work alone, but bad news, you are not alone anymore.

Lanniya hid her face in her elbows in a very childish way she was almost ashamed of.

-I know. It's not that.

He put his arm around her. She closed her eyes and resisted to the feeling to hide herself even more in her elbows. It kinda made her feel in confidence. She sighed and put her chin back on her arms crossed on her knees.

-I don't like to ask for help. I think I always saw it as a sign of weakness. And I feel like it's not even your business to train me.

-I'm the captain and my business is to make sure that my crew is safe. If train you makes you safer, I will do it.

He had removed his arm. It made him feel uncomfortable. Killer went with the food and left it a little bit away from them. Kid took it and handed it to her. Lanniya was surprised that he seemed to be concerned about her well-being. She took the food and they both ate in silence. She put her bowl of ramen aside.

-Why are you caring so much about me, captain ?

He almost choked with ramens. She was asking him why he cared about her as a captain and everything he did was because he cared about her as a person.

-First, do I have to be your captain to care about you ?

She frowned. She thought he was a cold-hearted man.

-Of course not. I just thought that would be how you felt about me.

-I care about you as a person.

It felt strange because it was a very intimate moment. She started to blush.

-I shouldn't be. Your my captain.

-I can be a man to you.

Oh man, that's gonna be easy.

A lot of thoughts ran through her mind. A lot of fantasies she had about him. It was difficult to see him as a man and not getting too flirty. But after all, maybe he wanted it to get flirty between them two. She sighed and then laughed slightly.

- If that's what you want...

Kid stood up, looking at the sunset.

- I want to train you as well and I don't want it to be a shame to you.

- I will swallow my pride, that's no problem. Just keep Killer away from this.

Kid sighed and took his head in his hands.

- I don't understand why you two are always fighting each other.

- He doesn't like me ! He thinks I don't belong to this crew and I don't know why !

Kid cleared his throat.

- Hum, don't pay attention to him, he... often spills tea for nothing.

Lanniya looked at him, asking herself what he was talking about.

- Whatever, she said standing up and going on the back edge of the ship.

She sat up, her legs hanging upon the ocean. Kid walked away, not knowing if he ended up winning the fight or just annoying her.
