Chapter 27 : Reunited

- Heat, you are serious, they are not there ?

- I haven't seen them.

Lanniya cursed. It was a really bad sign. She ran back to the forest.

- Crane, wait !

- I need to go back to Udon.

In less time than they could've told, she was back at the prison. There was a line of soldiers and two prisoners. One was laughing. For a reason she didn't know, Killer and Kid got caught. Or, more possible, they let them caught themselves. Lanniya followed them discretely. She had maybe another chance : the Strawhat was beating every guards in the prison in front of Queen. In the confusion, she could maybe free them. It would sacrifice her cover, but fuck off. She hid inside the prison, but the situation was more problematic than what she thought.

Queen attached the both men by their feet with their hands tied up. He forced their heads into a water bucket. She wanted to rescue them, but there was Queen and the Strawhat. Anyway, he was beating the guards one by one. Lanniya slowly went closer to the scene, hoping that he would be fast. If she could only beat Queen, it would be fine. But she didn't have to. He left by himself after a call from Kaido. When she was sure that they were far away, she entered the ring to kill the man Luffy was fighting. He didn't say a thing, shocked since he had not seen her.

Lanniya immediately liberated Kid and Killer. Luckily, they hadn't drown or anything. For a moment, everything stopped around and everyone was looking at her. She had forgotten to put on her mask. She looked at them. Luffy had a serious face.

- You're the person who went during the night.

- I am.

- You helped him escaped.

- I did. But don't expect me to do the same with you.

- I don't need your help.

Kid stood up again. He was looking at Killer with a look that Lanniya had never seen on him before. He couldn't believe it. He looked at her in disbelief. She looked away, guilty. She knew it was a shock for him. Lanniya didn't want to know how angry he was, and she might be a part of that. He was maybe gonna scream at her for that.

But he didn't. Luffy looked at him. Of course, they kinda knew each other now. He was maybe waiting to hear that Kid wanted to build an alliance with him. Lanniya was almost sorry for him.

- I've got enough. These alliances... I'm over it. I owe you nothing Mugiwara.

She could understand that Kid was not happy with Killer's state, it was a little bit unfair since Luffy fought to keep them alive. But it was not the best time to oppose herself to her captain, so she closed her eyes.

- The only thing I want to do now is to find my crew. I don't care for the rest.

The Strawhat didn't seem offended. A such powerful man was probably not in desperate need for allies. They left Udon without handcuffs and technically free. Once in the forest, Kid sat on a stomp. He looked incredibly angry. Lanniya turned her back to him because she knew she would be scolded.

- Lanniya... You knew about Killer ? he screamed between his teeth.

She didn't answer. Killer started to laugh, which made Kid even more angry.

- Answer me ! he screamed.

- I did, yes ! And I didn't tell you because I knew it would make you angry and we needed to take you out of Udon without any issues.

- I'm going to kill them all !

Lanniya fell on the ground, closing her ears. Tears started to come down her cheeks. While Kid was shouting his anger and Killer was laughing hysterically, she ran into the forest. She just wanted to get away from them.
