Chapter 38 : The ally

A year later, as the town on the island started to develop, a sailor came to tell Lanniya that there was a ship of some allies from Kid that was coming. She hurried to change her clothes. She had a reputation as the wife of a powerful pirate. In the castle, there was a room where there was a throne. It was made for official visitors.

The captain of the crew entered. She had a shock when you recognised him. It was her brother, Olek. He smirked and came to her, opening his arms. She rushed and hugged him. She couldn't believe that it was him, this important ally they told her was coming. After the usual greetings she asked him to eat with them.

- Can I see my nephew ? he asked. Kid told me about it and your marriage.

- You saw him recently ?

- Yes. For the child, he told me long ago.

He became serious.

- When I came to ask him to be his ally, he was looking for you. I told him everything I knew. Later, we met again and he explained everything. I was glad you were still alive. And last week, he told us that you were here with the little one.

Lanniya smiled.

- He didn't tell me. I'm happy that you are with us. Kodai will be happy to meet his uncle.

The presentations made, Kodai hid behind her. He was shy and mistrustful. Olek was amazed.

- He looked like a mini Kid with your eyes.

- That's not the only thing he got from his father. He is as strong, stubborn and hot-headed as him.

Olek laughed.

- I'm proud to be like my father ! said Kodai proudly.

- Yes, you can be, Lanniya said kissing him.

- Your father is an amazing pirate, continued Olek. I'm pretty sure he will become the King of Pirates.

- I will be too !

- Oh, I see. Do you know how to fight ?

- Mommy says that I'm too young.

- She's not wrong. In a couple years, I'll come to train you.

Kodai's eyes started to shine. He spent the rest of the night to hear the adventures of his uncle.

- Do you think you will be able to raise him alone ? asked her brother when Kodai was in his bed. He must be quiet something.

- I mean, he's not always an easy child, but he is Kid's son, it was expected.

- He is as smart as you. And he's got this taste of freedom that reminds me someone.

She smiled.

- Don't worry for him. I'm strong.

- Kid was really proud to have a son. I wouldn't have expected it from him.

- Me neither. He sees himself in Kodai. He never talks about his childhood, but I know he didn't have it easy. I guess he doesn't want the same for his son.

Olek nodded slowly.

- By the way, Kid will be here in a few days. He told me.

Her heart was full of warmth. They hadn't seen Kid since. Olek stayed with them until they arrived. He hadn't lie. A few days later, Kid's ship came. It was the evening. Lanniya had just put Kodai in his bed. As soon as Kid arrived, she rushed to him. Olek watched the scene, smiling. Kid kissed her deeply. As they parted, they heard small footsteps behind her. Out of nowhere, Kodai ran towards Kid and jumped in his arms. Kid laughed and took him on his shoulders. Lanniya sighed.

- Kid, please, I just put him in bed.

She was about to scold Kodai but Kid took him in his arms like a baby.

- Don't worry, love. I'll put him in bed. What do you think about that, Kodai ?

- Yes !

He did as he told her. Lanniya waited in the living room. She could see that Kid was stroking his hair as Kodai slowly fell asleep. He left his room and went to see her. You spent the rest of the night to cuddle together. But a surprise was awaiting her the next day, when Kid needed to leave again. There was another child on the boat, that Killer was holding. Kid smirked at her, seeing how she was looking at them.

- Killer is a father as well. His wife fell pregnant the approximately as the same time as you.

- I knew she was more than a friend ! she said.

Killer lowered his head.

- Why have you brought the child with you ?

- She is pregnant again, said Killer. Where she lives, it is not well seen to be married to a pirate. We bring her to a safer place.

- Here ?

- You won't have to complain about her, I promise. She can not move very well, she will stay in her home.

- Are you kidding ? Bring her to the castle.

- She is not able to take care of my son, Kailan.

- Then I will do it, she said.

She took Killer's hands.

- I won't let the person you love the most be alone.

That's how Lanniya met Kersti, Killer's wife. She was shy, pretty and really kind. The more Lanniya talked with her, the more she realised how much Kersti loved Killer. She was happy for them. Kailan and Kodai had the same age, so they played together and soon became friend, which made them really happy. A month later, Kersti gave birth to a wonderful little girl that she named Saima.

In the following years, the both women raised their children together. Kodai and Kailan became always more powerful. They were the best friends in the world. Saima became a beautiful child. It happened a couple of time that the Marines or other pirates came in the territory but every time, Lanniya managed to beat them. The people started to name her the Empress of the seas. She couldn't wait to be a part of Kid's crew again.
