- Do you go first or I ? asked Olek.
- Go on. My questions are a little bit complicated.
He nodded.
- Well, the house hasn't changed, as you see.
- There are those huge chests in our parents' room.
- It's all the money you sent us. There was so much that we managed to spare all of this during these years.
- And I was scared about not sending you as much money as before, she smiled.
- I was happy when I learnt that you joined a crew, smiled Olek.
Kid laughed.
- What ?
- Ask her mindset when she joined us.
- That's another story, she said. Tell me what happened after I went away.
- Well, first, you didn't tell the mayor you were going away, said Olek with a sententious tone.
- What's wrong with that ?
- He was supposed to protect us, remember ?
Lanniya did a sign with your hand.
- He is not entitled to do so.
- I'll explain to you later.
He sat with the rest of them, looking at nothing.
- He took care of us. After you left, I couldn't go to school without getting bullied. He was coming home every night to make us to eat and he made school at his home for me. He is still doing it for Tirsa now. He was the only one to really know our parents.
- You told me that it would be OK, Olek, Lanniya said with her head in your hands.
- Lanniya, I saw how the people treated you, how they took advantage of our need for money to make you work all day for nothing. Grand Line was going to be better.
He smiled at her.
- And you did well. We managed to make a little garden which gives us enough to eat to not have to go in the village every time we want to eat. The mayor makes me work to have some money for myself. But it's not that useful since we have no future here.
He turned to Kid. Lanniya was feeling so bad for what they had been going through, but he seemed to be still playful.
- So, how did my sister got in your crew ? he asked to Kid.
- It's pretty funny, you'll see, he said smirking at her.
Lanniya sighed. She knew she couldn't escape it. Kid explained everything that happened in Water Seven while Olek listened carefully. He laughed when he realized how grumpy she was after.
- Honestly, I thought you were someone scary but it was really nice of you to help my sister without properly knowing her.
Lanniya cleared her throat.
- First, how dare you call this deal help ? Second, since we always met in huge places, that was maybe better to get in his crew than always fear to see him at every corners.
- That's fate, answered Kid while winking at you.
- At the end, it doesn't seem to be that much of a pain in the ass since you seem to be doing fine, joked Olek.
- I'm afraid I've become as psycho as them, you said. But anyway, I had questions for you. What's that thing about our name ? Were our parents knowing some sort of secrets ?
Olek looked at the window to see if Tirsa was hearing. He was really serious.
- I wanted to tell you about it. Wait a minute.
He went away and when he returned, he had a compilation of old newspapers and documents. Lanniya had never seen them in the house before.
- The mayor gave it to me when he heard that you had become a pirate, saying that you would have to be more cautious.
Lanniya took it. The first newspaper was about a Marine admiral who restored peace in a country. The picture was one of their mother, much younger than she knew her, but it was her. She read the whole article, not sure to understand.
- Our mother was a powerful Marine, said Olek. She was known to do all she could to make the world a better place. She was often considered naive by her superiors, but look, she was very strong so she could do what she wanted.
He handed her another newspaper. This town it was an article about the revolutionary army. And there was a picture of their father. She looked at Olek, expecting an explanation.
- He was the best friend of Monkey D. Dragon. He was often proposed to be the number two of the revolutionaries, but he refused. He wanted to stay in peace.
She took a third newspaper. The articles talked about the disappearance of Iruza and Lorenzo Omayar, how they hid their marriage and how their ideals were similar. The situation started to be clearer.
- So... They fell for each other and hid here, right ?
Olek closed his eyes.
- They both thought that there was too much evil in this world. They found an island completely isolated because they wanted their child to grow happy, unaware of all the horrible things men are doing.
- Child ?
- They wanted only one child. Tirsa and I were unplanned, he laughed. But all their hopes were on your shoulders.
- So you're telling me that I'm betraying them ? she screamed. Because I'm pirate ? But why am I one ? Because they were too stupid to hide correctly.
- The Marine didn't want to let him alive but she was on their way.
Lanniya couldn't take it anymore. She ran outside and disappeared in the forest. Olek tried to catch her. Kid sighed. He felt it coming. He knew this was too much. He looked at the paper. She was the daughter of two powerful people killed by pride almost nine years ago. If their relationship had not been hidden from the crew, he would've come and comfort her, but he stayed where he was. Olek came back, desperate. Killer sighed.
- Don't worry, she'll be back soon, Kid told him. Tell me more about all of this.
Olek obeyed, glad to find someone who seemed to care.
