"Do it now Angie!!"
I was yelling at the screen in the back watching Angie's match against April. She'd been working so hard and training with me because she wanted to get better. She'd really earned this title match, but she was letting the nerves get to her. She kept hesitating and with April you can't do that. She knew better. She'd been in position to do her finisher three times, but hasn't yet. I don't know if it's the nerves or because she feels bad about taking the belt from April. I sighed and groaned at another missed opportunity. What is she waiting for!?! April locked in the Black Widow and I knew it was over
"UGH"
I groaned in annoyance as I made my way back to catering to grab her a water. She fought hard, but not hard enough. I wasn't going to make her feel bad about it though because at least she tried. I grabbed the water and headed back only to hear Angie's music. What the hell?? April came back through the curtain and I just stared at her. We didn't talk...EVER...she hated my guts with a passion, but I just had to
"April...I saw her in the Black Widow. I left to get her water and came back....how?"
"She got lucky."
I was so excited for her. This was huge and I wish I had been down there with her. She came running through the curtain and jumped into my arms and wrapped her legs around my waist. l threw my arms around her and kissed her cheek. I don't think I've ever seen her this excited before, not even when we got married.
"I'm proud of you Angie! Awesome job."
"I'm so excited!"
I laughed a little "I see that. Did you want to go celebrate after the show?"
She jumped down and kissed me "Yes I do"
"Well, it's a date then. After my match we'll pack up and go party"
"I love you Jon."
"I love you too. I can't stop smiling for you. You've come so far Angie. You looked really good out there."
She threw herself against me and locked her arms around my waist, grinning from ear to ear.
"Thank you. I'm going to go back to the locker room and shower and stuff so we can go. Is that OK?"
I nodded and started prepping for my match. I was going up against Colby and I couldn't wait to get in the ring and make him pay for sleeping with my wife and for coming around all of the time. I know they haven't slept together beyond that night of our fight. It didn't change the fact that he kept trying. He would constantly flirt with her and throw cheesy lines at her to try to convince her to leave me. I guess when the harsh reality method didn't work he resorted to being a teenager with shitty pick up lines. Everything about our friendship changed because of that. I showed restraint at first even though I wanted to kill him then. Angie begged me to just let it go and I tried, but the more he kept trying to weasle his way into our relationship the more I just wanted to beat his ass.
Angie's POV:
I practically skipped down the hallway I was so excited for this title win. I turned a corner towards my locker room and was pulled into a dark doorway. I knew it wasn't Jon because I left him back at the gorilla to prep for his match. I had no idea who it could be, but regardless this was unwanted "attention"
"Congrats on your win Angie"
"Ugh...Go away Colby" I said with an annoyed sigh
"Awww I don't even get a thank you??"
Sighing "Fine...Thank you"
"No kiss?"
"No, no kiss. Don't you have a match coming up in like 5 minutes with Jon?"
