TOO TOONEY

CHAPTER 4 TRAPPED

Location: Forest. Toy Kingdom Outskirts, (formerly) Montana, America. Saturday, August 14th, 3127. 11:12AM.

Meanwhile, the remaining 8 assassins had finally tracked down Nick and his friends again to the same forest that they were now at. Despite all 8 of the assassins now being quite physically exhausted from spending so many hours searching for any signs of their 4 targets, they were much more annoyed and furious than they were tired. 

While they didn't care that 2 of their fellow assassins were now dead, they were pretty upset that Nick and the others hadn't managed to escape from them, which they had previously promised themselves that they wouldn't allow that to happen. Also, after all that time they had wasted trapped underneath all that rubble of the destroyed ruins and trying to escape, they knew that by now, Nick and his friends had been given a good head start and if they couldn't find them in the forest that they were now in, it could be awhile before they would be able to track them down again! Plus, they couldn't go back to their base until their mission was completed and Lieutenant Surge would have their heads if he found out that they failed him! 

So they had only 3 options now! One, track down Nick and the others and kill them as soon as they all got the chance! Two, return to their base and face the wrath of an outraged Lieutenant Surge! And lastly, give up on the mission, go into exile in shame and go live somewhere where they won't have to worry about Lieutenant Surge and The Empire ever again! They all chose the first option as the latter two choices weren't very appealing to any of them.

After searching the forest for 20 minutes, the 8 assassins were beginning to worry that their 4 targets had given them the slip and that it would take days, if not weeks to track them down again. Fortunately, they didn't have to search for much longer when suddenly they all stopped when they heard a voice from nearby speaking to them. "So you all have finally arrived! Well, almost all of you! Anyway, your choices have clearly led you here and so have ours! But now, we offer you a new choice! Leave us alone, stop your pointless and hostile attempts to take our lives and you may keep yours or continue down this dark path you have chosen and face your inevitable ends'!" They heard Nick's voice from somewhere in the forest around them.

"Us, be defeated by you!?" A male assassin yelled, angered by the fact that one of his and his fellow assassins' enemies was speaking to them as if they were naughty kids being lectured by their parents. "The only end there will be here is when you're all dead!"

"So then, I'll take that as saying that you're all gonna stay and continue to pursue us until either you take our lives or we take yours!" Nick replied. " Then, remember this, anything that happens to you or your fellow assailants is your own fault! I promise that unlike before, this time, things will be much different and now instead of you hunting us, you will be the-"

"Enough words! Show yourselves, cowards so that you all may die!" The same male assassin snapped.

Very well, then! But be warned that every action we make has a consequence and the decisions we make are what truly determines who we-" Nick's voice was heard one final time, before the male assassin cut him off again.

"Shut the fuck up!" Another male assassin demanded.
