CHAPTER 22 THE INSIDE JOB

Location: Wild Kingdom. Somewhere in (former) Kenya, Africa. Shenzi The Hyena's Stomach. Wednesday, September 1st, 3127. 11:22PM.

Meanwhile, back at The Wild Kingdom and inside Shenzi's stomach, The Commander, David, Charleton, Doctor Lollipop and Coco were now standing on top of a pile of undigested pieces of food. Right now, they were frantically trying to figure out a way to escape Shenzi's stomach while they made sure not to fall of the pile of undigested food since it was the only thing separating them from the deadly, stomach acids below them!

To make matters worse, the pile of undigested food that they were on top of was slowly shrinking as it was little by little bit at a time being consumed by Shenzi's stomach acids! It wouldn't be long before the one thing separating them from suffering a very slow and painful demise was no more and they, too, were left to the mercy of Shenzi's stomach acids and just like everything else that Shenzi had ever eaten, they would become yet another meal for the female hyena and her body!

"We've got to do something fast and get the heck out of here!" David panicked. "There are many things I want to do in my life and becoming hyena chow and getting digested by stomach acid is not one of those things!"

"Well, we're certainly not going back out the way we came in!" Doctor Lollipop pointed up as he and the others all looked back up to the entrance to the throat that they had just fallen down from and into the stomach not too long ago.

"Well, if worse comes to worse, I have some special, acid-proof suits in one of the many 'Unlimited Space' pockets of my suit that we can wear to protect us from the stomach acids. Getting out, though, won't be the most pleasant experience!" The Commander suggested. "It would be very gross and messy, but if we go along with the natural, digestive process of Shenzi's body and head to the Large Intestine, we can all-"

"Nooooooooooooo!" Everyone else disagreed in unison.

"It's bad enough that we got eaten by Shenzi and we're now in her stomach, but I refuse to take a trip through Stink City and Shitburg!" David told The Commander.

"Yeah! A less smelly and messy way of getting out of Shenzi's body would be much more preferable and appreciated!" Charleton agreed.

"I don't see you coming up with any better ideas!" The Commander replied. "Sure, I have the power to fly now, but there's no way I can carry any of you out of here with me and it's too dangerous to just try going back up the esophagus and out of Shenzi's mouth!"

"Actually, I have an idea!" Coco spoke.

The Commander, David and Charleton all turned to face Doctor Lollipop and Coco as Coco gestured for them to listen to Doctor Lollipop. "Ahem! If I may suggest, we could just head to Shenzi's brain and escape from our giant, fleshy prison through one of her ears!" Doctor Lollipop said.

"But how do we get there?" The Commander asked.

"We just have to travel through the bloodstream and the heart, then go past the lungs and in awhile, we should reach the brain! From there, we just need to head to the ears and then we'll be home free!" Doctor Lollipop explained.
