CHAPTER 17 WHAT CAME BEFORE

Location: New Haven City, United Human Republic, somewhere in the southern part of (former) Greenland. Tuesday, August 31st, 3127. 2:50PM.

Meanwhile, back in New Haven City, deep within the territory of The United Human Republic and in a large conference room, 6 of the most powerful members of 'The Order Of The United Human Republic' (a organization of The United Human Republic devoted to maintaining the status quo and order amongst their citizens and society) were all present and sitting down in black chairs at a long, black and spotless, wooden table. None of them looked happy and this was obvious based on the expressions on all of their faces, which indicated that they meant business!

Among the 6 of them was 10942AA, the same human woman who had introduced Nick, David, Charleston, Robert and Norman when they arrived at New Haven awhile back and had had them sent to be re-educated! She didn't take it too well when she had discovered that the five of them had all escaped along with some other humans from New Haven, who had been sentenced to be re-educated, too, and even now, she still was pretty peeved about it!

But as furious as 10942AA and 4 of the other members of The Order Of The United Human Republic were, their anger paled in comparison to the leader of The Order Of The United Human Republic, who was a white-skinned, 6-foot tall man with black hair who was dressed in a black tuxedo and black and perfectly clean shoes! Not only was he the most powerful member of The Order Of The United Human Republic, he was also the most powerful man in New Haven and the entire United Human Republic as a whole!

He was known as 'XXX' or 'Triple X' and everyone in New Haven and The United Human Republic, including the other members of The Order Of The United Human Republic, all answered to him! While he was mostly viewed and seen as a good leader and a hero to all of The United Human Republic and the citizens of New Haven, there were those who feared and hated him due to his and his cronies strict, crazy and outrageous laws like being forbidden to leave New Haven and the territory of The United Human Republic and using codes instead of real names to refer to and identify everyone!

The truth is that underneath Triple X's proud and great reputation as leader and president of The United Human Republic (or what the general population of New Haven and The UHR saw him as) XXX and The UHR had a more sinister and dark side that only the small UHR opposition groups in hiding, The UHR higher-ups and the most loyal members of The Order Of The United Human Republic that were close to him knew about! Like The Emperor and The Empire, Triple X and The UHR also wanted power and they were determined to have it and not lose it no matter what!

Long ago, and not long after The United Nations had evacuated many of the world's citizens to Greenland, a small and shady group that had previously been only a small-time group of failed, mediocre ex-gangsters and ex-terrorists had managed to sneak into the human refuge there after also being forced to flee from The Anonymous Society! Getting past security at the time, wasn't easy and there was a rule that The United Nations had made that didn't allow anyone with a criminal record to be admitted into the human refuge in Greenland! However, thanks to some help on the inside and bribing some greedy security guards and staff, they were able to successfully assume false identities and get into the United Nations' human refugee camp!

For 10 years, the ex-gangsters and ex-terrorists were content just with living in the new human settlement and had even slowly taken steps into getting their own places to live, making friends, getting jobs and going back to living normal lives! For awhile, it stayed that way and the ex-gangsters and ex-terrorists had put their criminal ways behind them!
