Chapter-4

☆ She returns ☆

Aditya checked his watch for the fourth time in ten minutes. Impatience was written on his face. He was in the living room of the mansion waiting for his only sister to arrive.

Living alone for seven years had made her stubborn. He would have gone to pick her up. But madam denied saying "just send the car". He had to agree.

He looked towards his mom who was surprisingly busy instructing the cook for making all Annika's favorites today. His eyes shifted to his younger brother who was busy typing on his laptop but Aditya caught him glancing at the door in every two minutes.

'Distance make hearts grow fonder' the saying was very true. Going away  was Annika's choice but when she left it made everyone realize what she is for them.

The honking of the car got his attention. 'Finally!' He thought getting up to walk towards the door with Kartik following his steps.

She ran towards Aditya. Her hug was so forceful that he stumbled two steps back. He hugged his little sister with the same affection. Kartik joined the hug too.

" Finally Anni you're here !And look at you, you turned taller then last time I saw you." he affectionately ran his fingers across her hair.

"And fat too. You ate a lot alone it seems" said Kartik teased her.

She frowned "You are the one who is fat, and increase in height natural! " she said rolling her eyes and turned towards her mother and quickly gave her a hug.

Her mother hugged her caressing her hair fakely smiling. No exchange of words what so ever.

"You only missed your brothers not your father, and chachu" Adhiraj said walking out of the study with Manish.

Taking the blessing of her family members. Finally she sat down. Having some water she gave answers to all the questions thrown at her.

Aditya sat beside her asking details of everything, her lunch, dinner , office, friends. The house echoed with laughter. This was what she missed, company of the people who love you!

"Yes Shivaay site inspection is tomorrow, and the reports are with me" Aditya said over the phone.

"....."

"Okay sorry , you can come here and we can discuss about it"

"......."

"I am working from home today"

"...."

"I'll be waiting" he said hanging up, a mischievous smile on his lips lingered for a while before he walked towards the dining room for lunch.

Annika walked out of her dining room with a full stomach and satisfied heart.

Everything was her favorite. Aditya had filled every corner of her plate, and refrained her from leaving anything in the plate.

Adhiraj had cleared his lunch schedule to have it with her. Manish did the same too. It felt nice to have so much special attention after all the years she spent away.

She was moving to the living room when she bumped into someone. She lost her balance and was waiting to hit the floor but then she felt someone holding on her waist.

She opened her eyes slowly only to find a sapphire blue pair of eyes staring her.

She saw his face and narrowed her eyes at the person. He helped her stand back properly.

"Here we go with the ever so clumsy, Paanika. You didn't even change after 7 years."

"And you're still the same spoilt brat, like before 7 years, Billu Ji!"

"Oh come on, Annika. I ain't a brat. Get your brain repaired", he retorted to her. Again their sweet fights began. Friends from hearts and enemies by the brain. Frenemy Companions was the right way to describe them.

"And who are you to decide that I have some problem in my brain?" she asked crossing her arms around her chest.

"Everyone knows that, nothing to hard to see. " he said.

She made a face and chose not to say anything else. It took a lot of strength to fight him and she was tired for that.

"Why are you here for, any work or you still busy bromancing my brother?"

"Nothing like you have in your pea sized brain. Just a discussion on the new project." he replied , both the hands now in his pockets.

"Oh okay! How are Om and Rudra and everyone?" she asked turning to look at him once.

"They all are good, maybe you could come home to visit them I won't mind." he proposed taking the left corridor.

"Yes , I was anyway going to come, I don't care if you mind my existence there." she answered back. The two never left a chance to bother the other one.

"Okay then bye!" she said walking away from him and he stared as she left for her room.

"Bhavya!" She exclaimed surprised.

"Annika!" The lady dressed formally quickly came ahead to hug her.

"O my god ! What a pleasant surprise!" They gushed together and chuckled.

"How are you? Come sit." Annika dragged her to the couch.

"I am perfectly fine, you tell me how is life? I couldn't inform you about shifting here because you were on a event in Baroda. And after that I was so caught up that couldn't catch up"

"Thats okay, I am here too now. " Annika waved it off.

"So where are you working now?" Annika asked.

"I just joined at the Oberoi office as the legal advisor, earlier was at norblack norwhite fashion house"

"Oberoi office! Must say you have called yourself trouble. The CEO is a brat who scolds at every minute, is impatient and never listens to others"

"Filling the ears of my legal advisor, are you Annika?" She choked on air.

Bhavya rubbed her back and she calmed down a little bit. "Were you trying to scare the hell out of me!" She narrowed her eyes.

"And what were you doing?" He wryly asked.

"I was telling the truth!" She stated.

"Really? Doesn't seem like you were? Stop filling the ears of my employee Anyway I have work to do so" he turned to leave.

"Billu!" She muttered.

"Paanika!" He shouted back and left.

Bhavya couldn't control so she chuckled at her expression earning a glare.

"You guys are so cute!" Bhavya smiled.

"Cute and he. Never!" Annika unbelievably answered.
