☆ Dear diary' ☆
"Stop acting like a devdas, will you? " Annika spoke as she spotted Sameer at the bar.
"If you have forgotten then let me remind you. It's a cocktail party and people are here to drink and loosen up" Sameer glanced at her as she stood beside him.
"I talked to Tanya " she said and immediately he was listening to her attentively.
"Now don't you want to drink and loosen up? " She sarcastically spoke
"Okay sorry , now tell me what happened? " She rolled her eyes at him.
" I told her the situation here. Your mom and my mother and we being emotionally blackmailed." She spoke in an obvious tone.
"So what did she say?" He asked apprehensively
"She seemed to understand that things going on here are serious enough but we" she signalled to herself and him.
"We are not serious about anything. You love her and I would not marry you at any cost "
"She does? But if you told her then why didn't she call me like she had been doing from day before yesterday." He spoke more to himself than her.
She shrugged not knowing the answer and sipped on her apple juice.
"Isn't this enough that at least she knows that you are not cheating on her or betrayed her?" Annika asked staring at the people dancing
Her eyes stopped at a man with blue eyes. The black suit made his blue eyes seem bluer. He was smiling at the lady in front of him as he danced with her. As if sensing her gaze he looked at her. His smile fading a little before passing a full blown grin to her.
In response she just rolled her eyes and turned back to Sameer. Although she could hardly stop the curve on her lips.
"I think you are right. At least my image is clear , she wouldn't misunderstand me now." Sameer said as he realised about the same.
"That's what I am telling you ! For now stop worrying we'll see the things when the wedding is over" She said and he nodded relieved.
"Let's dance!" He forwarded his hands.
"I am not in a mood " she pushed back her glass on the counter.
"Oh come on! You don't have an option " he grabbed her hand and pulled her with him happily.
A weight was of her heart , at least to some extent. She was not going to marry him but for now the situation needed time. And for that she had to keep the facade of being happily engaged to Sameer. And to do that Sameer has to be okay too.
He danced with Annika laughing at her silly remarks as she commented on a girl.
Shivaay stared at her laughing figure as she matched steps with Sameer. Things seemed okay today. As if she had found a solution to all her problems.
He looked around trying to spot some distraction till the song ended. They lady in front was good until his eyes landed on a woman sipping on apple juice.
Her gaze was piercing and intense and he found himself getting enchanted by her for a moment. But then he grinned at her teasingly and she rolled her eyes. He wished to go and have some banter with her but she seemed to be in a conversation with the man behind.
He signed internally and focus on dancing. The song seemed nice but the lady in front could hardly match with him. Perhaps no one could, other than his best friend's sister.
