Chapter-16

☆  Her strength , her brothers ☆

Aditya took a place beside her and she looked up. Her face had no emotions, a perfect blank face.

If she was his old Anni then she would have hugged him tight . She would have asked that how did he find her!

Annika did nothing of that, just stared at Aditya's face for complete thirty seconds before turning back to the setting sun.

"Won't you ask how I found you?" He questioned her

Doesn't matter ! You are anyway going to tell me", she replied obviously

"Won't you ask me,what am I doing here?" Annika added her questions seconds later.

"Doesn't matter, you are going to lie anyways!" Annika ignored the taunt and didn't say anything.

"Shivaay spotted you here!" Aditya told her and she nodded. She wanted to ask where he was but didn't.

"Dad is hell worried , call him!" He handed her his phone.

She took the phone unwontedly but she was guilty too for bothering everyone!

"Password?" She asked

"Eight zeros" he replied and Annika smile bemused at his password.

"Papa!" She said the moment her dad answered the call.

"Don't worry please! I am sorry"

"......"

"Yeah, actually there was this sudden emergency at my friend's place so I went to help her" Aditya snickered at the lie

"...."

She shuttered for a moment then continued "Pia! Her name is pia,she's a very old friend"

"..."

"Yeah papa bye!" She cut the call and tiredly signed.

Aditya then looked at her face ,she was guilty it was written in bold but somewhere he felt like she had no control over it.

"I know there's something you are hiding Anni" she confusedly stared him.

"I tried to find out what it is. But got nothing. You will never tell me I know so now I am going to wait" Annika felt her heart drop at his disappointed tone.

He is her brother, she loves to death. And the only person she cares for except her Kartik and her father. And if her 'Adi bhai' looses hope at her ,was disappointed at her then what was the use of struggling so much!

"bhai!"she tried to explain but he cut off her.

"No Anni! No need to explain or should I say try to feed me more lies, make a fool of me saying it's nothing. You know I love you bacche, I can never see you hurt but that is what I am doing from past seven years" Anika gulped back the moisture in her eyes trying not to cry.

"You know dadi loved you but she loved me more!" He looked at her and she nodded.

"But dadu loved you the most. You know why?" He asked and she waited for the answer.

"Because were born after three generations! The only girl , my only sister. So all the love was poured on you" Annika felt a drop off tear fall on the sand.

"And by staying so aloof and trying to shut off everyone, hiding things you are just hurting me and everyone ,even dadu won't be happy from you" Aditya quickly wiped the corner of his eyes.

A sob escaped her lips remembering her dadu! Her promise that she'll never be sad and always find a positive in every weakness!

"But I'll keep my promise to care for you as my child!" His words broke her heart and finally she cried hard, after a long time!

Her teary self refused to stop and Aditya took her in hug ,a fatherly hug. This was needed. Confrontation was secondary but realization was primary!

Time passed and her tears subsided ,remailed were the hiccups.

"Kartik ?" She questioned remembering about the younger one.

"He's waiting in the car,was too pissed off" he answered.

She hugged him tight for a two seconds and then suddenly got up. Aditya was startled but he to got up following her.

She hurriedly opened the driver's seat and pulled Kartik out of it, he was shaken and shocked at her doing but then she hugged both of them together mumbling a lot of apologies and what not.

The brother's looked each other and smiled, she always did this when she did something which both of them had reprimanded her to.

Look you made me cry too !" Kartik wiped out the tears after they broke the hug.

The trio then again went ahead and sat together, with Kartik and Aditya on her either sides.

She had secrets and fears but she had support of her two brothers.

Unknown to her she had a whole clan who loved her, a man who would cherish her , fight her fears with her just needed a push to accept it himself.

"Take her with you!" Aditya said suddenly and Oberoi brothers waited for him to say more.

"Take Anni with you to Surajgarh!" He made it more clear.

"Why ?" Shivaay asked.

"I feel there's something, I already told you that. But you know I feel mom has something to do with Anni, I mean..." He hesitated to put his thoughts in words.

Shivaay stiffened at his words. If Annika got to know that Aditya was somehow getting suspicious of her mother then she'd pick the whole world on her head.

"Adi, just say it!" Om encouraged.

"You know mom , she loves me a bit more than Anni. Or so I think, because Dada ji and dadi loved Anni more. Kartik is the most pampered one, but in all these years mom never really missed Anni like me and Kartik and dad. She hardly ever mentioned her in a conversation but when we talked she talked too." Shivaay was listening to everything keenly trying to understand Aditya's mindset.

Shivaay for a reason knew that Aditya and everyone in the family was not ignorant of the fact that something was amiss between Mrs singhal and Annika, however they didn't address it publicly.

"Adi , I suggest you to be patient. Let things fall in place slowly.  Don't think unnecessarily.  Annika would be fine !" Shivaay spoke trying to make Aditya not think about it all.

So no shivika in the chapter but upcoming will be full of them.
