☆ Before her return ☆
It was evening when the meeting with Mehtas wrapped up and by that time Annika was tired. She massaged her left shoulder as she leaned on the chair.
However the day had not come an end. She had a event to attend which one of their managers had organised. She had to be there at seven 'o clock. After dropping her secretary to her home Annika drove towards her apartment. She had half an hour to get ready.
Locking the main door of her flat she rushed to the kitchen. Gulping down a glass of water she went to her room.
A quick warm shower was needed and after that she felt better. A blue simple gown which had silver lacy belt at the waist area was what she decided to wear. Her usual straight hair was tied in a messy bun. With minimal makeup she looked elegant.
The bell rang and Annika giving a last glance at the mirror left the room with her clutch.
She opened the gate and a huge smile plastered on her face. "Finally I got to see you " she said hugging the man.
"Seems like you missed me." Sameer grinned hugging her back.
"Off coarse I missed you Mr Taneja . Without you my lunch hour was boring." she said walking out and locking the door.
"That was flattering but I am angry with you Annika." Sameer said walking beside her to the elevator.
"And its unreasonable?" She asked innocently even though she knew he would be annoyed.
"Come on! Sameer we know I was planning this from quite a while. And its long time now I want to go back home. I miss everyone! " she said explaining calmly yet firmly walking out of the lift.
"Shifting there forever is necessary? You can also go and be there for a week or two and come back here. Just like you did till now. " he said giving her a option.
"No , I want to go back to where I belong Sameer. Enough of coming to an empty apartment and eating alone. " she announced and Sameer knew she was determined.
"I can join you for dinner as well." He gave a last try.
"But I won't call Tanya everyday for dinner." She said with a intention to shut him up.
"By the way you look good" he complimented trying to change the topic for the time being.
"Thanks and you look good too , but not more than me." she said passing him a smile while Sameer shook his head in disbelief. She and her mood both were unpredictable.
The venue was close to her office and took exact thirty minutes to reach there from her flat.
As they entered inside all the eyes looked towards them some greeted them with a smile and some just nodded.
The rest of the time passed meeting and greeting people.
They sat way from the crowd with their dinner. He and Annika were together since their masters. They were in a relationship from two years.
There was no proposal and ring in the wine glass, nothing fancy. Sameer didn't even proposed her. It was just their bonding and understanding that their friends shipped them. Annika didn't bother and Sameer was fine with it and why not he really loved her , at least he thought that.
It was past nine thirty and Annika and Sameer were heeding back to her apartment when her phone rang flashing 'Shakshi'.
"Yeah Shakshi"
"Hello Annika ma'am , sorry to disturb you at this odd hour but I am stuck here at office and the watchman has left locking the office" Shakshi said, her voice echoed in the background.
"Ah! what were you doing in the office so late Shakshi?" Annika mumbled to herself tensed. While Sameer paid attention to the conversation going on after stopping at the side.
"..."
"Okay you don't worry I'll be there in some time."
"...."
"Hmmm, wait for me I am coming with the spare keys"
She hung up and Sameer looked at her questioningly. "We need to go to the office Shakshi is stuck there. " Annika said checking her clutch for the key card. Fortunately she had it with her.
"But what is she doing there now ?" He asked.
" Sameer can you please take me to the office and pick her up." Annika requested ignoring his question.
"Okay sure but you don't need to come. I'll drop you and then go pick and drop her anyways your apartment is near." he said and Annika obliged.
Five minutes later Annika got off the car. And waved him a bye.
"Just drop her back safely. She was doing my work and sorry for inconvenience I caused" Annika said peeping from car's window.
"Shut up and go sleep. You have office and then you need to pack too. Go..go bye" he replied with a smile.
Annika waved him bye and walked in the elevator with a small smile. The day wasn't that bad!

Madhuri Singhal was a woman with two shades. One, a woman who loved her family and cared for them. A lady who fulfilled her responsibilities.
Another was her selfish, unreasonable shade, seen by the ones in her bad books, seen by the little seventeen year old.
Whose soul was wounded by her harsh words and angry, spiteful behavior.
For now the lady was sitting with her family. With years of experience she had mastered the art of masking emotions.
"Bhai once Anni is here we'll go to a nice adventure trip." Kartik proposed.
"Sure! And tell Sanam to join it and Shivaay, Om and Rudra too. "
"She hasn't even left from Delhi yet you are planning for trips, let her come first!" Swarna, Kartik's mother said.
"I can't wait till she gets here, it's been so long. I don't understand why she had to go London, I am mean she could have gone to Cambridge with Aditya bhaiya and Shivaay bhaiya!" The table fell slightly silent till Kartik ended.
Aditya glanced at his mother who was silent, she seemed anxious. He wished to know what was wrong but , he also knew that she wouldn't tell.
He had always known that his mother loved him more than his sister. It was normal as Indian women are more fond of their sons just like how his father and grandfather loved Annika more. But he didn't know why the relationship of her mother and sister bothered him.
His gaze then went too his father who planning to throw a party on Annika's return.
Annika's return would finally bring life in their dead lifestyle.
He smiled fondly thinking of her.
