Devon's POV.

I woke up feeling really tired.

Dragging myself out of bed, I walked out, Fang on my heels.

I went to check on Jasmine.

Looking inside, I saw Ceejay wiping her head with a towel.

He hadn't left her side all night.

Poor guy needed to sleep.

But I knew he wouldn't be able to.

"Hey Ceejay." I said.

He looked up at me and I decided not to comment on his blood shot eyes.

"She opened her eyes in the night. Asked if Savannah was okay. Told me she loved me. And fell back asleep. Her fever rose terribly but I've been trying to cool her down."

"Hey, its not your fault. Do you know that."

"Its my fault. Its all my fault. Nothing stopped me from making her stay with me while I signed autographs."

"So you want it to have been Savannah that was captured?"

Something about that didn't sit well with me.

"No. She is my sister. They both should have been with me."

"Then you three would have been captured."

He signed and squeezed her hand that was in his.

"You really love her."

"Yes. And if she wakes up from this, I'm never letting her out of my sight. She will be with me everywhere."

"You really want to protect her."

"Yes. I want to. So please take care of Savannah for me. I'm scared that if I try to do all. I'll fail one person. And I was right."

"Chill dude. It won't happen again."

He managed a half smile as I patted his back and headed out.

The sound of laughing came from the kitchen.

I opened the door to see Leo cooking pancakes for Karen who was seated at the counter.

"Hey. Leo I've never seen you wake up this early."

"She cashed into her free food."

I chuckled. "Give the dude a break. Okay? Don't break my best friend."

"Me? I've never broken anything." Karen said.

"My pen."

"My airplane"

"Your toe."

"My television."

"My head." Leo said.

I laughed, remembering that day.

"Speaking of Karen, you owe me a new TV and an airplane." I said.

"Umm. Bye Leo."

She turned and ran away.

Leo and I started laughing as she ran away.

Leo stacked up the pancakes and Karen ran in quickly, grabbed it, kissed his cheek and dashed out.

Leo smirked as I gave him an amused look.

Pouring myself a mug of black coffee, Leo followed me into our office.

We opened the suitcase and sat down in.

It held a notebook and a flash drive.

"What do you wanna do first? Read the book or see the movie."
