Devon's POV
Leo, Karen and I sat down at the airport, waiting for them to come.
"Why didn't you tell her?" Karen asked.
"I couldn't. I wanted to. But yesterday was her mum's funeral. I couldn't tell her. She was crying. I had to pacify her."
"What you're doing will destroy her. Tell her where you're going at least." Leo reasoned.
"I wish I could. But Ferdinand said I shouldn't. And I'm scared of that dude. He had enough ammunition to give us for life. Or even death. And I'm not ready to die now. Not when I've gotten a reason to live."
"What if she leaves you and moves on." Leo asked.
I wouldn't be able to live it through.
"She deservers better than me."
"But you love her." Karen argued one last time.
"If you love someone. You let them go. If its meant to be. You'll be together again."
We looked up to see Ferdinand coming over to us with three guys behind him.
Ferdinand was my uncle. Yes, he was my father's brother.
Ferdinand worked for the CIA and he wanted me to join them.
I'd avoided him for a long time but now that Klan was arrested, he had forced me to join them or go to jail. He had enough proof.
"Dante." He reached out and shook my hand.
His hair was in a man bun and his icy blue eyes stared at me.
"Ferdinand."
"Leo and Karen." He acknowledged them.
I'd begged him to let me bring Leo and Karen with me. We would be training together.
"The private jet is waiting. Can we go?"
I nodded and we went to the jet.
After the arrest, our main plantations had been taken away from us so the government could use them for pharmaceuticals.
Our hotels, breweries, factories and other things remained in my name.
So all I did was to make them undergo renovation.
Take or leave it, Billions where still in my name.
We sat down and the jet took off.
About thirty minutes after take off, Ferdinand came over to three of us.
"Your phones?" We handed him all our phones and he took them.
"From now on. You don't exist. You're invisible to other humans."
Savannah's POV
I locked myself in my room for a month in mourning.
Luckily, the crew of Swapped was rather nice to me.
They gave me all the time I wanted but I think it was enough.
I was going to mourn my mum for the rest of my life but I didn't need to disturb the rest of the crew.
I dressed up nicely and went downstairs.
Dad was seated at breakfast. So was Ceejay.
Ceejay hadn't been able to stop his work but he had cried himself to sleep for a month.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Ceejay asked and I gave him a small smile and nodded.
Yeah.
I sat down and sipped my green tea.
