Chapter 14

Savannah's POV

He spooned ice cream into my mouth.

"Banana and mint." I gagged.

"You hate this flavour?"

"Not particularly a favourite."

"So, what was your scariest moment."

"That has to be when I almost drowned."

He obviously tensed.

"How did that happen?"

"Well, I was six then and I fell into a pool. I hadn't really learned to swim yet, and the pool was sixteen feet deep."

"That's pretty large for a six year old."

"Yeah, I tried swimming over but unfortunately I couldn't make it. Ajay saved me."

"Your sister?"

The tears pooled in my eyes but I blinked them away.

"Yeah. She dived in. She was only seven then but she just had to help me. She pulled me out. She saved me. But I couldn't save her."

"How did she die?" He asked.

It was his turn but I wanted to tell him.

I needed him to know.

The whole world was told she was sick.

The  whole  world had been lied to.

Deceived by my family.

But something in me couldn't lie to him.

"She was shot in the heart. Three times."

He paled.

"I'm so sorry." He said gently.

I smiled at him.

"It wasn't your  fault."

I was expecting him to smile back but he didn't.

"Hey, wanna see my favourite place in the world?"

He faked a smile. "Sure. Let's go."

"I'm gonna drive."

"No way. That's not gonna happen. My car is precious."

"I'll buy you a new one."

"That means you're planning on crashing it."

"No I'm not. I'm a really good driver."

"I don't doubt you. Just not with my car."

"Cmon Dante pretty please."

"No."

"Pleasssee"

"No."

"Cmon Devon. Please."

"Fine." He groaned, hitting his face with his hands.

I smiled at him as he tossed me the key and we headed to the the car.

Fang kept licking me and laughed as I drove over to the forest.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

"I wanna kidnap you."

"Really?" He asked, over exaggerating his fear."

"Yeah. I'm a part of a gang and I don't like you so I want you dead."

"Please tell me you're joking."

"Of course I am joking. I don't even know how to hold a gun."

He smirked. "I can"
