(Y/N) Pov
Echo-1: "As fun as burning down a Siren Song is we need to get some shelter." He said while walking up to me.
(Y/N): "Agreed. Everyone group up before we get turned into ground beef by a morticians making!"
Ruby: "I saw a cave not too far in that direction." She was still clinging to Yang's side, visibly shaken. "If we run we can make it in a few minutes."
I looked at the group we had, all of us were tired and beaten, we were in no shape to run. I was contemplating walking there but a distant ear piercing screech quickly reminded me of the situation.
(Y/N): "I know everyone's hurt but we need to run!" I patted Ruby on the head, earning a small smile. "Alright little red lead the way."
We made our way to the cave, ducking into the snow a few times after close encounters with a pack of Ice Fiends. The cave was about thirty yards long with a narrow entrance, thankfully keeping most of the cold out.
Yang: "Finally some rest!" She said throwing herself on the floor and immediately falling asleep. The rest of the students did pretty much the same, except for a small handful who wanted to eat dinner first.
Echo-1: "My fireteam will take watch sir." I put my hand on his shoulder, stopping him from walking towards the entrance.
(Y/N): "I don't think so Echo. You and your boys get some food and sleep, this won't be the first time I stay up all night." He was about to protest but stopped after I gestured to his men, who were on the brink of collapsing.
Echo-1: "Thank you sir! You're a good man!" He walked back to his team, a wave of relief passed over them as he gave them the news.
I got some dinner and sat down next to the entrance of the cave, enjoying the view of the snowy tundra illuminated by moonlight. After some time I was finishing up my dinner when I heard some shuffling next to me.
(Y/N): "Hey Blake, can't sleep?" I said as she sat next to me.
Blake: "Not with Echo team nearby." I tilted my head in confusion as I turned to look at her.
(Y/N): "Did they do something?" She shook her head.
Blake: "I despise Atlas, everything about it." She looked at me, her catlike eyes slightly illuminated like she was staring into my soul. "But the soldiers... the soldiers are the worst."
(Y/N): "I never knew you hated me." I felt a little sad thinking that someone I considered a friend couldn't stand me.
Blake: "I never even got a chance to tell you how much I hate you before you proved me wrong by helping Velvet."
(Y/N): "Care to tell me why you don't like my brothers in arms?" She put her head down and didn't say anything for a few minutes.
Blake: "My dad used to be the leader of the white fang when I was young..." She moved closer to me as she continued. "... and they were still peaceful."
(A/N): Quick statement before I begin. This section does include a peaceful protest that ends in death, with everything that's going on right now I feel the need to say this isn't a commentary on real matters. This was my plan on Ghira's backstory from the start and I don't feel the need to change it. If that kind of thing upsets you, I'm sorry, you can skip this section by going to when it changes back to (Y/N) Pov.
Blake Story Pov
Kali: "You can't lead this protest Ghira get someone else to do it!" I heard my mother yell as I put my ear up to my bedroom door. "Those extremists have made it very clear they intend on turning this into a war today!"
Ghira: "And I will be there to make sure our people aren't lead astray." I could hear my mother crying softly. "Don't cry my love I need you to keep a brave face... for our daughter." I opened the door and walked into the living room
Young Blake: "Daddy!" He let go of my mom and lifted me into the air as I ran to him. "When are we going to the protest today?" He grimaced slightly, putting me down on the floor and kneeling so he was closer to my height.
Ghira: "Daddy has to go alone today."
Young Blake: "What why?!" I frowned, he had always taken me to the white fang protests.
Ghira: "Well today's protest is a little different, so it's more important for you to stay here and help your mom clean." I could see him bite the inside of his cheek, as if to keep himself from crying.
He pulled me into a hug, not like his normal hugs, this time he held on with everything he had, and I did the same. We stayed that way for a few minutes, like both of us were scared about what was going to happen when he let go.
Ghira: "You'll grow to be strong one day my little kitten, you got my heart and your mothers looks." He kissed me on the forehead before finally pulling away from the hug.
Kali: "Please stay safe Ghira." They shared one final kiss before he said his goodbyes and walked out the door.
I was watching the protest on TV a few hours later. It was a rally in a neighboring town where most of the Schnee's got their faunus miners. It should have been simple we had already protested the low wages and unfair treatment countless times.
The had come to a stop in front of a wall of Atlas Soldiers, this usually happened they would just stand there and stop them from going any further. But this time was different, it seemed the protesters were just calmly talking to the soldiers when suddenly a single gunshot rang out.
No one new who fired the shot but there was no doubt a war had just started. Atlas soldiers began firing into the crowd, members of the crowd were firing back as well. They wore the white fang armor that's used today, with the logo across the chest.
Explosions were heard as the video stopped.
As you can guess, my father never came home. My mother and I had hope that he maybe would make it home but our worst fears were confirmed by the news one day. A special broadcast by the new white fang announced that Ghira Belladonna had been killed.
His second in command announced that the white fang would now be more militarized in their ways to achieve equality.
After that there was no more peace for any faunus. Atlas soldiers kicking in doors of families became an all too common sight. It was enough to make me join the fight, and then it only got worse as I saw the destruction Atlas caused.
(Y/N) Pov
Blake: "I wouldn't say it's hard to hate the people who murdered your father and so many of your friends."
(Y/N): "Everyone who fights has a reason for it, and I say that's a pretty good one." She yawned and leaned on my shoulder. "You can sleep here if you'd like."
Blake: "I'll take you up on that offer." She layed her head on my lap and took off her bow.
(Y/N): "Get some sleep kitty." I rubbed her ears causing her to purr. "We've got a big day tomorrow.
