(Y/N) POV
(Y/N): "I feel like I've heard that name before." I thought to myself for a second, where had I heard that name before? "Oh! You're that famous fighter from Mistral, the one who specialized in 1v1's!" I said both out of excitement of getting to meet such a good fighter and because I was proud of myself for remembering.
Tifa: "You know about my fighting days!?" She said with barely controlled excitement. "Most people just recognize me as a mercenary these days!" I could see the stars in her eyes at being noticed for being more than just a hot merc.
(Y/N): "Yeah I was a fan back when you were still the champion." Come to think of it, I couldn't remember who took her title either. "What're you doing all the way in Vale?"
Tifa: "I'm here for work... or at least I was." I tilted my head a little, she got the hint that I was more than a little curious about what happened. "The job was a bust, so now I'm stuck here in Vale trying to drink the days away." I felt bad for her, like the kind of genuine bad that makes you really want to help someone.
Bartender: "Here you go." He said while putting down the last of the drinks I ordered. I thanked him and put a generous tip on the bar before grabbing two of the drinks.
(Y/N): "Do me a favor and grab that drink." I said gesturing to Pyrrha's milkshake.
Tifa: "Who orders a vanilla milkshake at a bar?" She said giggling to herself. "Is that friend you said you brought a child?"
(Y/N): "No! They're all 18 or older!" I looked directly at the readers. "You hear that you animals! In our canon they're legal!" Tifa just looked at me, more confused about who I was talking to than anything.
She picked up the milkshake and followed me to the table, on our way there they both noticed me walking over with another person. Yang looked a little upset that I brought a girl to our table, but Pyrrha looked downright horrified. I stepped up to the table and placed Yang's drink in front of her.
Yang: "Thanks babe!" Something was off about her voice. Was she being... defensive?
(Y/N): "No problem." I cleared my throat as I got ready to introduce them to Tifa. "This here is Tifa Lockhart, she used to be the best 1v1 fighter in Mistral." Yang looked surprised and a little upset about how much a new about her. "This Blonde Bombshell is Yang Xiao Long and the redhead over there is..."
Tifa: "Pyrrha Nikos." She said with a stone cold tone.
(Y/N): "Yeah. Have you to met before."
Pyrrha: "Oh well only once."
Tifa: "She's the one who took my title." OOOOOOOOOH SHIT! "I was the beauty of Mistral who was finally taken down by the unbeatable girl."
Pyrrha: "I really am sorry for taking your title, I never meant for it to be anything personal." Tifa waved her hand in a sort of, 'it's nothing' motion.
Tifa: "Don't worry about it you were more cut out for the fighting scene than I was." She finally set her milkshake down in front of her, easing some of the tension in the room. "Besides being a mercenary means I get to find a lot of work... and men~" With that she got a little too close for even my comfort, causing Yang to stand up and put herself between us.
Yang: "Watch what you say or do around what's mine!" Wait...
Tifa: "Or what little girl!?" Is she saying I'm like her property?
Yang: "Or you might end up getting hurt!" Is that a good thing?
Tifa: "Kids these days beat a few pawns and think they can fight the queen!" She set her drink on the table and got into her fighting stance. "I'll be impressed if you can even hit me!"
Yang: "I'll do a lot more than that you arrogant bitch!" Yang drew her gauntlets and activated them, pushing me away before getting into her own fighting stance.
The push snapped me out of my thoughts as I quickly assessed the situation that had quickly unfolded. Before either of them could make a move I grabbed Yang in a full on bear hug, lifting her off the ground and away from Tifa.
(Y/N): "Alright let's all calm down for a minute." That didn't work at all as Yang was still trying to get out of my arms.
Yang: "Let me go so I can humble that tramp!" I couldn't see what Tifa did, since I wasn't facing her, but whatever it was nearly got Yang to activate her semblance.
(Y/N): "STOP!" That got both of their attention onto me and away from each other. "I've had a rough few days, so I came here hoping to get a nice meal! I won't let it get ruined by your childish bickering!" Yang finally snapped out of it, deactivating her semblance.
Yang: "Fine, I'll calm down." She gave me a quick peck on the lips. "But for you. Not for her." She said while pointing at Tifa.
The situation calmed down for the most part as everyone took their seats at the table and ordered their food. An awkward silence fell over the table as no one really knew what to say in the current situation.
Yang wasn't helping, putting her head on my shoulder and kissing me every minute or so, she was clearly still showing off to annoy Tifa. All she did was stare at Yang with the most passive aggressive smile I have ever seen.
Pyrrha: "So how's Vale been treating you?" Finally someone spoke up trying to break the silence.
Tifa: "Fine." Well that didn't work.
Pyrrha: "Oh... well that's good." We looked at each other, trying to get any ideas on what to do about what's happening. "Look! Everyone's drinks are empty, I'll get us refills." She stood up and grabbed hers and Tifa's drinks.
(Y/N): "I'll help you carry the cups." I grabbed mine and Yang's drinks before following her to the bar. My drink wasn't even close to being empty, I just wanted to get away from that table for a bit.
Pyrrha: "Four refills please." She said to the bartender who took my drinks as well.
I leaned against the counter and let out a heavy sigh.
(Y/N): "Any ideas?"
Pyrrha: "You saw what happened when I tried to make conversation." She rubbed her head for a second as she thought of something. "What if we try to get them to bond through common grounds?"
(Y/N): "What common grounds?" I was genuinely curious about what she meant.
Pyrrha: "Their fighting styles are very similar. Maybe we can get them to acknowledge each other as good brawlers?" A smirk grew on my face as I came up with a plan.
(Y/N): "Not a bad idea spartan." My smirk grew into a full on evil smile.
"Let's get them to fight."
END OF CH.35
A/N: Yes I know it's a short chapter, but I'm going to try out making the shorter chapters again since I like writing them more and I can make them much quicker.
