(Y/N) Pov

Cinder: "(Y/N) ... (Y/N) are you listening?" I snapped out of my thoughts and came back to reality.

(Y/N): "Yeah sorry just a little zoned out." Cinder gave me a funny look, looking around I soon realized everyone was looking at me. "What's wrong?"

Kali: "Dear you've been staring off into space for over an hour now." I looked over at Cinder for conformation, she just gave me a concerned nod. "I wouldn't expect someone from Atlas to be that upset over Menagerie falling." What she said was only half correct, the fall of Menagerie itself wasn't what tore me up...

...it's all the things that this implies...everything this means.

Let's start with the obvious first, I'm gonna have to break the news to Blake that the country she's grown up in is now under foreign control. Not to mention that the country I'm from was the one to take control, with more than a few civilian casualties.

Next is the whole grimm hybrid problem, a new type of warfare that's unlike any that this world has ever seen. I'm more than familiar with how dangerous grimm can be, since I grew up in a small village in northern Atlas, but this is on a whole new level. Now some sick fuck decided to make them somewhat smart and give them armor... how long before someone gives them a gun.

But the straw that broke the camels back is the fact that I wasn't able to make a difference, not even a little. I'm supposed to be a specialist, The Shadow of Atlas! But as soon as I have to fight using my own talent I lose, just like I did before I got the semblance! I need to train harder, without either version of my semblance, if I ever want to be strong enough to protect all of the people in my life.

Cinder: "(Y/N)!" I shook my head, focusing back on reality again, everyone in the bullhead was staring at me again. "You just started staring off mid-conversation again." She said with more concern in her voice than before.

(Y/N): "I'm fine..." Everyone in the bullhead gave me the, don't try to bullshit us, face. "Really, I am." Kali stood up and walked over to me.

Kali: "Scoot over." I looked at Raphtalia, who was just as confused as I was, before slowly scooting over. She sat down next to me, I looked over to Cinder to see if she knew what Kali was doing, but she just shook her head and went back to looking at her phone. "Here, take a rest." She said while patting her lap.

Sienna: "Kali! You can't be serious!" Sienna and Raphtalia both looked at Kali like she was going to jump out of the bullhead.

Kali: "I am very serious! This young man almost died more than a few times trying to protect our home, not his. The least I can do is give him some proper rest." She turned to me before patting her thighs again. "There are no pillows on board so you can rest your head on my lap."

I looked at her nervously, not quite sure if she was being serious, but with a little head nod and a smile she convinced me. Well it's not like I was going to less this opportunity pass me by anyways. Her thighs are far too meaty to not take any opportunity to get close to them.

As I placed my head on her warm thighs she began running my hands through my hair, softly lulling me to sleep. As I drifted off to sleep, I forgot about all the problems I had caused...

...even if it was just for a moment.

Winter Pov

Ironwood: "Ozpin, when I sent him to Beacon I expected you to make sure he wasn't a problem!" It seems like everyone has been trying to get a hold of (Y/N) ever since the invasion of Menagerie started. "This is one of the most important moments in Atlas history and you lost the most dangerous person I have!"

The general continued pacing around the room, like he had been since he found out that Ozpin hadn't been able to contact (Y/N). I had been pretty worried myself, going off to do his own thing without telling Ironwood is fine. But why wouldn't he tell me?

Ozpin: "I've already informed all of the professors and huntsmen in the area." Ozpin looked annoyed, unlike Ironwood who looked more pissed than I've ever seen him. "As soon as he sets foot anywhere near Beacon you'll be the first one to know."

Ironwood stopped pacing around the room, finally calming down.

Ironwood: "Thank you Ozpin. I appreciate the assistance." They both said their goodbyes before ending the video call. "Winter, what were those important reports you were talking about?" I stood up straight and cleared my throat.

Winter: "Sir, since the beginning of our invasion of Menagerie the amount of White Fang attacks on small villages has increased by 400%." I pulled a few pictures our scouts collected out of my file. "More than 40 villages have been attacked just yesterday, and that's just the ones that have been reported by our scouts."

The images in the files showed villages in different states of destruction, some only had signs of light combat, while others were completely burnt to the ground. All of this because we pulled most of our forces for the invasion, not like we protected much outside of the city anyways, but some of this could've been prevented.

Ironwood: "Make sure no one knows about this." I couldn't believe what I heard, I looked over at him confused and shocked.

Winter: "Sir?" He didn't even bother looking at me, like this wasn't even something worth his time.

Ironwood: "We just completed the most successful military operation in Atlas history..." He turned back towards be briefly. "...I won't have it ruined because of the unfortunate deaths of a few expendables." With that said he left the room, leaving me alone.

I stood there for a bit, just looking at the pictures of the small villages we've failed to protect. All those homes, those people with lives, thrown away like garbage for Ironwood's selfish invasion. I can't even do anything about it, I'm too busy and going out of my way to disobey orders would draw too much attention...

...but maybe there's someone who can?

I pulled out my phone and entered in a number I haven't called in a long time. I hesitated pressing the call button. Would she remember me? Would she even listen?

Fuck it.

I pressed the call button, my heart was beating out of my chest as it continued to ring. After a few seconds the person picked up.

???: "You haven't called me in a while Winter." Her voice sounded more matured than it had the last time I spoke to her. "What's got you so bothered you decided to call me?"

Winter: "More than 40 villages have been attacked, Ironwood's not gonna help and I have my hands tied..." I sighed, about to do something that I really don't like doing. "...I need your help Artoria." The phone went silent for a few seconds, I even got worried that she was going to hang up.

Artoria 'Saber' Pendragon: "Send me the locations of the villages."

END OF CH.32

A/N: I know I know, short chapter. I've been pretty busy lately and schools been kicking my ass, but thankfully my semester is going to be over soon so once that happens chapters can go back to their normal lengths.
