Chapter 14

(Y/N) Pov

Everyone in our group was in a full sprint towards Ruby's last known position. Normally a village being in the middle of nowhere wouldn't be a problem, except this village wasn't on our maps.

Ruby just walked right into a Siren Song.

(Y/N): "Just wait we'll meet you outside the village!" I tried yelling the message over and over again but Ruby had run outside of the effective range of the radios.

Velvet: "I hear something over there!" She had taken her helmet off allowing for full use of her  bunny ears. As we turned towards where she was pointing the sound of a gunshot caused us all to flinch and duck.

Yang: "That was Ruby's rifle!" A look of panic came across her face as we ran as fast as we could to the village. 

As we got closer the sound of multiple more gunshots was heard, causing me to run so fast I couldn't feel my legs.

(Y/N): "Echo team take the far side, CFVY take the building closest to the left, the rest of team RWBY handle the middle building, and Quill your with me." No one had time to argue over there assignments as we had no idea which one Ruby was in. "Don't trust any sounds these things are mimics!" Everyone nodded and ran to their positions.

Coco Pov

My team and I readied our weapons by the front door, Velvet taking the time to also put her helmet on since her hearing won't do any good here. I changed my bag to my mini-gun and was about to blast the door open before Velvet stopped me.

Velvet: "STOP! You can't use that we don't know where Ruby is!" 

Coco: "Dammit!" I muttered as I changed it back and threw it in front of the house. "Guess I'm going hand to hand. Yats hit the door!" 

In one swift move my large teammate kicked the door, causing it to break off it's hinges and fly inwards. I was expecting to see some horrible sight on the inside, but it just looked like a normal house. 

We moved further into the house, the sounds of our footsteps were the only things that stopped helped get rid of the eerie silence. As we got further into the house we came across two stairs, one led to the second floor while the other led to a basement. 

Coco: "Fox and Yats check out whats upstairs, Velvet and I will go downstairs." I took the lead as Velvet looked visibly nervous about going into the dark basement. "Velvet is your faunus night vision working down here?"

Velvet: "No, we need moonlight for our eyes to be able to adjust to the dark." I stopped as I felt that we reached the bottom of the stairs. "B-but (Y/N) told us that these helmets had built in flashlights." I continued walking forward slowly in the dark. 

Coco: "One sec let me see if I can activate it." I felt around on the helmet looking for buttons, after a couple of seconds I found one. "Here I think I got it!" I pressed it, causing two lights on the side of the helmet to turn on. 

Velvet turned hers on and immediately jumped backwards, pointing. 

Velvet: "C-Coco! Coco!" She yelled with more fear than I've ever hear her yell before.

I turned to where she was pointing and there on the floor were piles of bones and flesh. I couldn't even make out where one body ended and another began, as they had mutilated to the point where I wasn't even sure if they were all human. 

I only hope Ruby wasn't in here, I hate to think she ended up like one of these poor people. I gave Velvet the signal to get the fuck out of here, I got halfway up the stairs. But as I took a step a sudden sharp pain caused me to backwards and roll down the stairs.
