Chapter 24

(Y/N) Pov

Yang: "Umm... Do you know her (Y/N)?" 

Oh fuck, oh shit! 

Why the fuck is she here?!

(Y/N): "She's a friend from work!" I put a fake smile on my face in the hopes of covering up my very apparent panic. "What are you doing here? The boss gave me the day off." 

Neo: "Well you promised me ice cream last shift." A smug grin plastered her face as she typed away on her phone. "You didn't forget did you?~" Dammit I completely forgot!

Ruby: "Well we don't mind if you tag along! Ice cream sounds great!" Oh my Oum Ruby you don't know how much you saved me. 

Neo gave a satisfied smile, content with both causing mischief and getting ice cream. We didn't get a full step before Yang suddenly clang to my arm. 

Yang: "I don't believe we've been properly introduced." I felt her grip tighten around me. "I'm Yang, (Y/N)'s girlfriend... well one of them." She mumbled the last part, but Neo still heard her. 

I could see a no good smile on her face as she typed away on her phone. I could tell what she was going to do, I tried to sneakily shake my head no, but she just tilted her head and pretended she didn't get it. 

Neo: "Really~" She walked up and put her arm around my other one. "How do I join the club~"

I felt Yang's arm tense up even more around mine, like she was holding herself back. While I was worried about Yang's reaction I completely forgot about... oh I don't know... the five other girls standing around. 

They circled around Neo like a pack of wolves, all of them equally angry about her trying to cut in line. I had to come up with some real big brain shit before they teared her apart. 

(Y/N): "So... anyone know a good ice cream place around here?" Smooth as butter. My attempt was so fucking stupid it actually managed to get everyone's mind off of the problem. 

Weiss: "My sister said you got ice cream on your date with her, let's just go there." We all looked around and everyone seemed fine with the idea so I led the way. 

Sienna Khan Pov

Adam: "This is absurd!" The raging bull stormed into my throne room, the orders to retract from Atlas clenched in his hand. "We finally have a fighting chance and you want to throw it all away!" 

He continued stepping towards me threateningly, causing my personal guards to draw their weapons and move in front of me. I put my hand up as a signal to stand down, attempting to stop the situation from getting physical. 

Sienna: "You saw the message brought back by the sole surviving viper, I won't put lives at stake for such little gain." 

Adam: "Why are we running from a shadow, we lost one squad but even then the mission was accomplished!" He threw the plans to the ground. "This isn't a decision made from worry about lives, it's nothing but COWARDICE!" He said through clenched teeth, the last word sounding like it was laced with enough venom to kill a person just by hearing it. 

Sienna: "There is no conversation to be had Adam! You will send those orders out and enforce them!" 

Adam: "You're no better than that fool Ghira!" The room went silent as the tension doubled in an instant. "This organisation deserves a leader who isn't scared to run it." I've had enough of his bullshit at this point.

Sienna: "Raphtalia, please escort Adam out of the building." My head guard just nodded in response, signalling for a few others to follow. 

Raphtalia: "You heard Lady Khan, it's time for you to leave." Adam stopped for a second before giving me one last look as my guards led him outside. 

I let out a sigh of relief, I put on a straight face but really I'm worried about what that raging bull has planned. Before I could get too lost in my thoughts my guards came back, Raphtalia taking her normal position next to my throne. 

Raphtalia: "Permission to speak Lady Khan?" She caught me off guard, she didn't often speak when spoken to, let alone start conversations. 

Sienna: "Speak your mind." She hesitated for a second as if pondering if she should really say anything. 

Raphtalia: "Adam isn't the type to back down from threats, and there are more than a few people who share his beliefs." 

Sienna: "What are you trying to say?" 

Raphtalia: "It may be best for you to leave... quickly." 

Without even a chance for me to ponder my thoughts a commotion was heard outside. The sounds of gunfire and yelling replaced the tension I felt with dread.

 I stood up from my throne as a bloodied guard ran in.

Guard: "Adam and his supporters are staging a coup!" Quickly the rest of the guards drew their weapons and ran outside, with the exception of Raphtalia. 

Raphtalia: "Quickly take the back exit!" I stood up and ran behind my throne where there was a secret floorboard connected to a tunnel that led out of our camp. I jumped into the tunnel but, Raphtalia seemed hesitant. 

Sienna: "What're you waiting for? We need to leave." She looked back towards the entrance to the building where the other guards went to fight.

Raphtalia: "It doesn't seem right for me to leave the other guards... I'm going back." She drew her sword and started walking towards the entrance.

Sienna: "No wait!" I yelled desperately trying to get her to stop. "You're my most trusted personal guard now is not the time to die for a fight we can't win!" 

She gave a long look at the door before slowly putting away her sword. She turned towards me and jumped down the hole as well, I moved aside so she could lead the way. 

The first thing I noticed as we exited was the sounds of fighting were gone, an eerie calm lingered. 

Raphtalia: "Do you know any places we can stay hidden?" She whispered to me. 

Only one location came into mind.

Sienna: "Look for the largest house in Menagerie an old friend lives there." 

Ironwood Pov

I stood in front of the camera, the screen before me showing the faces of every important person in Remnant, from Jacques Schnee to Ozpin. 

Ironwood: "At this point all of you have heard the recent news regarding the attacks on Atlas bases." I took a deep breath as I continued. "Gentlemen this is not a war we can afford to lose." 

I opened the map behind me for everyone to see, multiple red dots were marked around the outskirts of Atlas. 

Ironwood: "As of today we are done testing and going into production of the first grimm soldiers." Applause was heard from the call, especially from the more wealthy members which helped fund this endeavor. "And as promised for your troubles you will get first pick at the new land in which we will soon acquire." 

Jacques: "What land and how will it be acquired?"

Ironwood: "Atlesian Inquisitors are being dispatched for the first wave as we speak." I pulled up another map showing the movement of my armies. "We'll own Menagerie in a week."
