Chapter 45

Cinder pov

Emerald: "I still don't see why our plans need to be adjusted to account for HIM." My... assistants and I have been arguing for the last few hours about the introduction of (Y/N) into our plans to take Beacon. "Everything was set to work perfectly before! Why are we risking it!?" 

Cinder: "Watch your tone when you speak to me." I said in a firm voice, my point being made clear as the green haired girl backed away while lowering her head. "(Y/N) is a much better fighter than any of us, if plans need to be changed then so be it." 

Mercury: "If he's such a good fighter then why'd you lose Menagerie." 

With the flick of my wrist I sent a small flame into his face, not enough for any scarring but more than enough to cause pain. As soon as the pain hit him he grabbed his face, falling to his knees. Emerald kneeled down in complete subservience, clearly my show of power has reminded them who's in charge. 

Cinder: "If you were there I wouldn't have to hear the audible headache that is your voice." After speaking directly to Mercury I turned, speaking to both of them. "The level of insolence that you've both shown through this whole discussion will not be allowed again."  

Emerald: "Yes mistress." 

Mercury, after hearing Emerald, found the strength the move his legs into a kneeling position as well. 

Mercury: "Yes mistress." He said in a barely audible voice, still holding his face as the pain won't go away for a few minutes. 

Cinder: "(Y/N) will be included in the plans and that's final." With that said I walked out of the room, leaving them to think about their mistakes. "I need to work with professionals." I mused to myself as I walked down the hall. 

As I heard footsteps coming towards me my mind raced with ways to avoid conversation with whoever was passing by. But as Raven Branwen turned the corner and began walk right at me, I knew that my luck wasn't with me today. 

Raven: "Salem needs us immediately." Dammit! 

I didn't say anything, just giving a willing nod as I followed her to the throne room. Upon entering I couldn't help but notice that the tanuki faunus, Raphtalia, was also here. Knowing how rare it is for Salem to enlist the help of random people something big must be happening. 

Salem: "Recently I've been informed by a spy that there's an unmarked Atlesian ship headed straight for Vale." This confused me, sure this would likely mean a fight but that could be solved by just sending me. "Due to recent events it's very likely that the cargo on this bullhead is extremely dangerous." 

Cinder: "Are we being sent to intercept?" 

Salem: "No, you're being sent to watch over (Y/N)." Oh, well glad to see she has faith in our fighting abilities. "We have no idea where the bullhead is heading, meaning your top priority is ensuring the survival of (Y/N)." 

Raven and I gave a simultaneous 'Yes Mistress' while Raphtalia gave a formal nod with a White Fang salute. With a slash of Raven's sword a portal was opened, and we stepped through into Vale. 

(Y/N) pov

Winter and I finished putting on the last of our clothes we planned on wearing. Blake had already gone back to her dorm, seemingly satisfied with our thirty minute cuddle session, meaning that all we had to do now was get Ruby. With one last look in the mirror, and a quick nod of approval from Winter, we stepped out the door. 

Since team RWBY is my room neighbor it wasn't long before I was standing in front of their door. Taking one last deep sigh I knocked on her door; which, to my surprise, was opened by Ruby immediately. Almost like she had been waiting for us to show up... which is pretty cute honestly.
