(Y/N) Pov

I sighed finally having made it back to beacon after what felt like hours of trying to remember the route Ruby and I took to the store. I checked the time, 5 p.m., i'll text Yang to see when she wants to go to the gym.

I got a reply saying she'll meet me at the school gym in 30 mins. I walked back to my dorm, put my scope on my desk, and got changed into my normal gym clothes consisting of shorts, an Atlas military tank top, and running shoes.

On my way to the gym I overheard Glynda talking to someone on the phone.

Glynda: "You should rethink this, sending third years is DANGEROUS, sending first years is SUICIDE!" Her face was red with anger as she yelled into her phone. I paused for a second considering talking to her before I decided I didn't want to get involved in any drama today.

I soon found my way to the school gym and DAMN I would've killed to have a place like this back in Atlas. Multiple floors with different equipment of all kinds, TVs on the walls, and that's just what I can see from the OUTSIDE. I stepped inside and noticed that most of the first floor was a massive arena with sparring matches being hosted.

My phone buzzed, I checked it to see a text from Yang saying she would be a little late, I told her it was fine and I would be waiting here. I lent over the railing deciding to watch the matches while I wait for Yang.

My mind went back to the conversation I had with Boss, when I told him that I didn't know how many times I almost died while on recon missions. But that wasn't the whole truth, it was true that I lost count of how many times I almost died, but even more so I couldn't count all the horrible things I had done.

How many families I destroyed, lives I ruined, ...

all the people I killed.

I convinced myself that I wasn't that person anymore, but deep down some part of the old me is still in here. I stopped paying attention to the matches as my mind became focused on voices from my past.

???: "AMBUSH"

???: "The rookie was supposed to stay on the lookout!"

???: "I'm fuckin' hit help me rookie!"

I jumped slightly as I was brought back to reality by a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see a blushing Velvet and three others. One was a girl who looked like a model, the other an absolute unit of a man, and the last was a guy with white eyes.

Velvet: "H-hi (Y/N) my team wanted to meet you after I told them what you did for me." She was barely talking above a whisper, her teammates are probably the only reason she approached me directly. The model looking girl approached me.

Model???: "I'm Coco, the big guy is Yatsu, and daredevil is Fox!" She reminded me of Winter, giving off a confident and commanding aura when she talked.

(Y/N): "Nice to meet you all! I'm glad to see that Velvet has a team that cares so much for her." I shook Coco's hand. She smirked at me while maintaining eye contact, we both stared at each other not wanting to be the first to look away. After a short while Yatsu coughed loudly to get her attention and she begrudgingly looked away.

Coco: "Handsome, confident, strong, and polite." She turned towards Velvet. "You caught yourself a good one bunny." She snickered as the shy bunny covered her face with her ears to hide her embarrassment. They said goodbye and started heading towards the door, but right before they could leave Coco turned back around.

Coco: "Really though thanks for keeping our bunny safe, not many people do that around here!" I shot her a smile and told her I would help anytime. "After how much Velvet talked about you I really hoped you wouldn't disappoint!" The bunny made an audible squeaking noise before running towards her team leader. "I mean she was all, oh he's so handsome, so perfect, so..." She was cut off as Velvet picked her up and ran out of the building.

Yang walked in, greeting Velvet and her team as they walked by like it was nothing out of the normal. I walked over to greet her.

(Y/N): "Hey Yan..." Upon getting closer to her I became more than a little distracted when I saw what she was wearing. A yellow sports bra and tight black shorts. I coughed and re focused on the conversation. "You wear clothes like that often?" She pressed herself against me.

Yang: "This would be the first time a guy has ever seen me in clothes like this..." She leaned into my ear and whispered. "Had to reward the special guy who treated my sister so well~" It's been kind of a long day so if she want's to tease then two can play at that game.

(Y/N): "You know I would feel even more special if I got to see what's underneath~" I lightly stroked the exposed part of her back causing her to shiver and blush. "My hands can do so much more if you're up for it~" For the first time I saw Yang lose her composure as it looked like her brain was about to shut down. I burst out laughing at her reaction causing her to start laughing as well.

Yang: "Alright I'll admit you got me there, but in all seriousness I appreciate what you did for my sister." She motioned for me to follow her.

(Y/N): "She told you what I did?" I hadn't thought too much of it especially after I explained to her that it wasn't all that expensive for me.

Yang: "Oh yeah, she told me and Weiss and Blake and all of team JNPR." She let out a cute giggle as she led me through the gym, stopping to show me the different areas. "She was so happy that she could make crescent rose stronger. But..." She stopped and looked me up and down. "When I asked her what else you did... she got REAL shy." I tried not to look guilty as I remembered the strange hugs we shared.

(Y/N): "Not anything I can think of." I lied as easily as I breathed. "So what are we gonna work today?" I asked trying to quickly change the subject.

Yang: "Today we are going to work legs, got any problems with that Mr.Bigarms!" I gave a sarcastic laugh as I felt insulted... yet strangely complemented.

I told her to lead the way, since I had been out of it for two weeks I wasn't too sure on remembering what to do. I followed along on all the exercises from deadlifts to lunges, Yang and I learned a little about each other as we talked between sets.

I told her about what it's like being the youngest recon specialist in Atlas history and she shared the stories, that she could remember, about her and Ruby's mother Summer. She let me know that she had gotten over it but Ruby still gets upset whenever it's brought up.

The mood lightened up after that and we just focused on working out rather than talking. That is until we got the the squat rack, because Yang's shorts were a sight for sore eyes during her squats.

(Y/N): "Sorry Yang I think you have to go a little lower to really get full range of motion with squats." Yang just giggled as I was leaning back enjoying the show.

Yang: "You can get a much better view every night if you decide you wanna go on a date~" It sounded like a joke but given the situation she was probably at least a little serious.

(Y/N): "Keep doing squats like that and I might just have to take you up on that offer." Before Yang could respond my phone rang, Ozpin just my luck. "What do you need Ozpin?"

Ozpin: "We have a developing situation in Atlas, I need you to get to my office immediately." I can't even be out of a coma for 2 whole days before they send me out to do bitch work! "I trust that you'll be here soon." He hung up before I could even respond, like an asshole.

(Y/N): "I gotta go Yang, Ozpin's gonna give me a lecture if I don't get to his office soon."

Yang: "I was almost done anyways so it's fine. Lemme know if it's some good gossip!"

(Y/N): "I wouldn't get your hopes up it shouldn't be anything crazy." I said as I waved goodbye and walked out the door.

I sighed to myself as I began getting closer to the entrance to Ozpin's office. Mentally pleading to no one in particular.

Please don't be anything crazy...
