Here's a fanfiction for Shinso because this violet-haired boy needs more attention.Just a few warnings:
The main character likes to swear... Maybe not quite on Bakugo's level, but you get the idea.
There's a teeny tiny mention of bullying and depression in this story, so if that's a trigger for you, I'll let you decide whether or not to continue reading.
I've never read a Shinso x Reader fanfic before, so if it feels like I'm copying someone else's work, kindly let me know.
You'll find out what the reader's quirk is within the first few chapters.
I wrote this story with the use of "Y/n" and "L/n" because I think that you (the reader) can feel more immersed in the story that way... At least, that's how it works for me. Enjoy!-N
Y/n = Your name
L/n = Last name
N/n = Nickname
F/n = Father's name
E/c = Eye color
H/c = Hair color
*(No matter what hair color you choose, the tip of your hair is dyed violet, because that is Y/n's favorite color. Your hair is also wavy and medium-length, hitting just above your shoulder.) *Reminder: Y/N IS HALF-OC!!! So if this isn't you, I'm sorry.-------------------------------
Today's the day... You'd been training for weeks to improve your physical strength, and here's the day where all of your hard work would finally pay off. You gradually approached the grand entrance to UA.
"Jesus Christ, this place is huge," you thought to yourself. As you walked, you took notice of all of the students around you – most of them wore the same nervous expression on their faces. Then you noticed some of them staring at you. "What the hell are they looking at?"
That's when you remembered the mistake you made when getting ready that morning.
"Of course they're staring at you, moron... Just look at what you're wearing!" You looked at your attire... Since this was the entrance exam and no one had been accepted yet, nobody was wearing the UA school uniform. However, while everyone else was wearing their middle school uniforms as a sign of professionalism and school representation, you were clad in a black AC/DC shirt and purple leggings.
It's not like you had much of a choice on what to wear, though... You'd spent the last five years at a public school in America, so you didn't exactly have any school uniforms. "Ah, fuck it. It's not like I can go home and change into something better." You then thought of another reason why they might be staring...
You're half-American. Your father is from San Francisco, while you mother was (well... is) from Japan. Since you got many of your father's physical traits, your nose is slightly (but only slightly) bigger than everyone else's. However, it's enough to be noticeable. At first, you thought that you would stand out because of your H/c hair, since you've had the tips dyed violet... But that feeling changed moments ago after seeing the eclectic variety of hair colors entering the school building. Green, blue... Hell, you even thought you saw a girl with pink hair and yellow horns a second ago!
You've also gotten your height from your dad. He's about 6' tall, and you stood at about 5' 9" – still taller than a majority of the girls here. You noticed that you were even taller than a lot of the guys here, too! You loved being a tall girl back in America, but now you just felt more awkward than anything. You also had shoulders that were broader than those of most girls... And you had pretty narrow hips, thin legs, and a flat butt, so your body had pretty much no curve to it at all.
Now that you've thought about the size of your nose as well as your height and build, you couldn't help but be a bit self-conscious. You tried to make yourself seem a bit smaller and put your head down, hoping your long bangs would hide your nose, at least for the time being. You could use your quirk to make your nose and height seem smaller, though...
"Nah, that trick wouldn't work on so many people anyway."
With your head down and your thoughts to yourself, you kept walking... Until you ran headfirst into something – or rather, someone. You stumbled just a bit before catching your balance, and looked up to see a boy with red eyes and the spikiest blonde hair you've ever seen in your life.
"Watch where you're going, extra!!!" he all but screamed at you. You saw him glance down at your shirt before returning his sharp gaze to your eyes, then turning around and walking away.
"Prick..." For a moment, you considered using your quirk to make him feel like an ice cube was going down the back of his shirt, but decided against it. "Better not make him hate me more than he already does."
"Hey, you alright?" you heard a voice from behind you ask. You turned around to find a different guy, this time with red (and I mean REALLY red) hair and bangs that pointed straight upward. You also noticed that he had a small scar above his right eye.
"Neat scar."
"Yeah, I'm good. Thanks!" You offered him a smile, which he returned with his own sharp-toothed one.
"Wow... I'm gonna have to nickname this dude 'Shark Boy'."
He took a look at his phone. "I'd love to talk more, but I gotta run. You'd better hurry before you're late! See you around, bro-ette!"
"'Bro-ette'?" you thought to yourself, before watching him run off. You then looked around to see that everyone else – except for a few stragglers – had already entered the building. "Ah, shit. I'm already late!"
-------------------------------
Rushing into the auditorium, the lights dimmed until they were practically out. You were looking around for a seat when someone bumped into you. "Whoa... Sorry, man!" the boy quickly apologized. He turned and scurried off, but not before you noticed a black lightning bolt streak in his blonde hair.
"'MAN'? Geez, am I really THAT masculine-looking?!"
You searched around for a seat for a good two minutes before you finally found one... right next to a guy with all-too-familiar spiky hair. "Ah, great." Sitting down next to him, you silently prayed that he wouldn't notice you. Thankfully, he didn't... Or at least, he didn't say anything when you sat down. On his other side, you saw a nervous-looking boy with messy green hair and freckles, who smiled at you after making eye contact. You kindly returned the smile with one of your own before focusing on Present Mic, who was now taking the stage.
As Mic spoke, you overheard the green-haired kid mumbling to himself about the exam, and to be honest, it was quite annoying... Until a random guy with glasses called him out on it. He shut up after that, for which you were grateful. As Mic continued droning on and on about the different robots in the exam, you took a moment to once again look at the students around you.
That's when you noticed a head of messy purple hair sitting a few rows in front of you. The room was dark, and his back was facing you so you couldn't see his face, but that hair was enough to draw your attention. Violet was your favorite color, which is why you dyed the ends of your hair that same hue.
Then, all-too suddenly, the lights turned back on and everyone around you stood up, causing you to lose sight of the violet-haired individual. Unfortunately, due to your distraction, you missed the last thing that Mic said about the robots.
"Doesn't matter... I'm gonna have to avoid all the robots, anyway."
-------------------------------
You make your way over to Battle Center A, keeping your mind occupied the whole way, when a familiar angry voice calls out from behind you... "Oi! Bon Scott!" Remembering what shirt you were wearing, you stopped and turned around to see the blonde with anger issues walking toward you. You had to admit, you were very impressed by his knowledge of rock music...
"Maybe this guy's not so bad."
As he approached you, his demeanor went from casual to serious in an instant. "Listen, I don't give a damn who you are... Just stay the hell out of my way during this exam. Got it?!" He didn't even wait for a response before storming past you.
"Nope. Still a prick."
I just wanted to spend the first chapter briefly introducing a few of the guys from 1A, since I know a lot of people want to see that. Bakugo gets slightly more screen time because I love him. xD
