27 - Violets

-Shinso POV-

The next day, you got a call from L/n at about 11:00am. "Hey, Shinso! I was about to head out somewhere, but I want you to come with me... There's someone I'd like for you to meet." She sounded a little bit nervous as she spoke. She had told you that she would support and be there for you, and you decided that you would do the same for her.

"Sure, I'll come."

"Great! Here's the address..."

You were surprised when you searched the address that she gave you to find that it belonged to a hospital. Here you stood at the entrance, dressed in a clean black shirt and jeans. You weren't sure who you were going to meet, but you wanted to look at least somewhat presentable, just in case.

"Hey, Shinso!"

You turn to see her coming toward you. She was in her civilian clothes – a simple Aerosmith shirt and some skinny jeans. She also had a brown purse that hung loosely on her shoulder. You had only ever seen her in her school uniforms (and a sports bra, although you tried your best not to think about that too much), so seeing her in more casual clothes was really refreshing. She was also holding something in her hand.. Upon closer inspection, you saw that they were some kind of small flowers. "Violets?"

-Y/n POV-

You were so glad to see that he came. You had thought about this a lot, but you wanted him to know that he could trust you. The best way to show him this was to let him know that you trusted him, too.

The two of you enter the hospital and you greet Amy the receptionist just like you did after your first day of school. You speak to each other for a moment before she spots Shinso standing behind you. "So, are you going to introduce me to your boyfriend?" she asks.

"H-He's not my boyfriend!!" You were surprised that she would just casually ask something like that. You looked at Shinso, and he was looking away with a light blush on his cheeks.

"Aww, that's a shame... You two would be so cute together!" she said, placing her face in her hand, dreamily.

"Amy, please stop..."

You silently prayed that she would drop it and thankfully, she did. She took another look at Shinso and her face lit up. "Hey, I recognize you from the Sports Festival! You made it to the one-on-one battles, didn't you? You were so awesome!" You didn't even know that she watched the festival, so you were surprised to hear her bring it up.

His blush returned and he got really shy all of a sudden. "Thanks," he murmured.

You smiled... He wanted to be a hero, but he didn't know how to handle fame. "Kind of like Aizawa..."

"Anyway, I'll leave you alone now... N/n, you know where to go." Amy gave you a quick hug before leaving you to yourselves, and you signal for Shinso to follow you to the hall marked 'Psychiatric Ward'.

As you head down the hallway, you spot a boy standing in front of one of the rooms to the left. You'd recognize that scar and that head of red and white hair anywhere... He was in dark gray jeans, and had a navy blue jacket over a white t-shirt with a red shoulder bag. Quietly, you hold your hand out to Shinso, telling him to hang back a little bit, which he does. You slowly approach the boy. "... You're Todoroki, right? From the Sports Festival?"

He looked at you then, and you saw that his eyes were heterochromatic, just like his hair. He looked slightly annoyed. "What do you want? Did you follow me?"

You were a little bit put-off by his tone, but decided not to take it personally. You shook your head, "No, actually... I'm here to see someone else." He turned to look back at the door in front of him, and you took another step closer to read the sign next to the door. 'Room 100: Mrs. Todoroki.' You nearly gasped. "So THIS is where I remembered his name from!"

Silently, you stand next to each other, with Shinso hanging a few yards behind you. After a moment of thinking, you made the connection in your mind. "... She's your mother, isn't she?"

Todoroki said nothing... only blinked. You stood with him for another ten to fifteen seconds, and just as you thought he wasn't going to respond, he finally nodded and spoke up again in a quiet voice. "... I haven't seen her in years."

Looking down at the small flowers in your hands, you separated them into two bunches and held one out to him. "Well, you can't go in there empty-handed."

He looked at you again, and you smiled as you held out the flowers for him to take. He gingerly took them out of your hand and held them in his own. "Thank you," he spoke softly.

"You're welcome, Todoroki." You very lightly pat his shoulder before turning to Shinso and waving for him to follow you. Together, the two of you head to the next door over. You stand outside, flowers in hand, and look to your left. Todoroki glances over to where you're standing and you nod to him, offering him another kind smile, which he returns with a small one of his own. Looking back at the door in front of you, you take a deep breath before knocking.

            Y/n finally got to meet Todoroki in person!
