-Y/n POV-

The next day, you got a text from Shinso saying that Aizawa had been hospitalized again. He was a part of the mission that Ochaco and Tsu had been called in for, and apparently he had gotten stabbed. You were concerned, but Shinso assured you that his uncle was fine. In fact, he had gotten discharged that next day, and you were informed that Kirishima and Midoriya had been part of the mission as well. You were happy to hear that all of your friends made it out with treatable injuries, and they were all released from the hospital within a couple of days.

-------------------------------

It was a few days before your date with Shinso, and you were at the school with everyone else preparing for the school festival. Each class had to come up with some sort of event for the other students to enjoy, and your class had decided to do a haunted house. Chikuchi was grumbling about throwing the festival despite all of the shit that's been happening lately. She blamed 1A for all of it, specifically the USJ and the training camp disaster... She didn't like how you and Shinso had been put in danger.

You knew that it was wrong for her to think like that, considering that it wasn't actually 1A's fault that those things had happened. You tried to tell her this, but she was too stubborn to understand your reasoning. Everyone had heard about how 1A was going to hold a live concert, and you were excited to see it. But not Chikuchi... She felt that they were only putting on the school festival to make themselves feel better about everything. Agoyamoto felt the same way... The whole time you built the haunted house, you heard them grumbling to each other.

"This is so stupid..."

"It's all their fault..."

"We're only doing the festival for their sake..."

You shook your head... They were too bitter to understand that 1A was putting on their concert for everyone else to sit back and enjoy. It was no use trying to get them to understand... Maybe their opinions will change once they actually see the show.

As you helped put together the structure of the haunted house, you heard a slightly crazed voice coming from behind you. You turn around to see Midoriya, a tall blonde guy, and a few of the students from class 1B speaking to each other. You weren't surprised to see Monoma there, antagonizing the green-haired kid... That guy still hated 1A with all of his being. An idea occurred to you and you smirked to yourself. You got up from where you were working, and made your way over to them. You created an illusory wooden beam and carried it on your shoulder, making it visible to the small group of students. As you approached you overheard the deranged blonde.

"I heard class A is doing a concert or something for us. That's so cute... But to put it bluntly, class B's stellar performance is going to make you wish you hadn't even shown up! We're doing 'Romeo and Juliet and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Return of the King'!"

"Pfft... That sounds ridiculous."

He continued speaking. "It's a completely original play written by us! A super spectacular fantasy epic! You should make sure you come prepared... Bring a hanky to wipe the tears from your eyes when you realize how superior we are!!!"

You pretended to walk past the group as he began laughing maniacally, and at the last second, you turned and 'smacked' Monoma on the back of the head with the beam on your shoulder. You looked back and placed a hand over your mouth in fake surprise. "Oopsie!"

As Monoma laid on the ground, one of the other 1B guys that was with him crouched down over top of him and looked up at you with a small smile. "Thanks for that! He's a little crazier than usual today..."

"No problem!" you replied, releasing the beam from your shoulder and letting it disappear into thin air. Then you looked over to your 1A friend who seemed very glad to see you. "Hey, Midoriya!"

He raised his hand in a small wave. "Hey, L/n! How are you?"

"I'm all right... I heard you sustained some injuries recently. I'm glad to see you're still in one piece!"

He put a hand on the back of his head. "Haha, yeah... I wasn't the only one, though!" He pointed to the tall guy next to him with his thumb, who laughed brightly.

"Yeah, but we're all good now!" he said with a smile.

You looked to the blonde. "You know, I don't think I've ever met you before..." As you looked at his face, you noticed that his eyes were oval-shaped – different from everyone else's – and you had to ask... "Would you happen to be part American?"

He looked surprised for a moment, but smiled brightly. "Yes! How'd you know?"

You were glad that you had guessed correctly... It would've been really awkward if you had been wrong. "You're eyes look just like my dad's! He's from San Francisco, which makes me half American, too! I didn't inherit his eyes, but I got his nose." You turned your head to the side so that he could better see your profile and he let out a laugh. You then stuck your hand out to him. "My name's L/n!"

He smiled and gladly took your hand in his before giving it a firm shake. "I'm Togata! Nice to meet you, L/n!"

As you shook his hand, you looked down at his arm... It was littered with scars of varying sizes. "Wow, you've got a lot of scars, don't you?"

You released his hand and he smiled again and gave another laugh. "Yeah, years of training will do that!"

"I'm a fan of scars, myself." You held out your wrists for him to see, revealing the pair of burn marks on your skin.

He took a closer look and a shocked expression crossed his face. "Are those... handprints?"

You smiled at him. "Yup! It's from my encounter with a villain at the hero training camp a month ago. I've also got a sick one on my shoulder from a different fight... As you can see, I'm building up a collection!" The three of you laughed together, when you noticed a little girl holding onto the back of Togata's shirt.  She had long silver hair and big red eyes, and she had a small horn on the right side of her forehead. You crouched down so that you were eye-level with her. "Hello! My name's Y/n. What's yours?"

She spoke softly. "... Eri."

"Hello, Eri!" She was so adorable, but she looked a little bit nervous. You wanted her to know that you were a friend, so you wracked your brain trying to think of something cool to show her. "What would a child find entertaining?" You then remembered a funny cartoon that you saw many years ago that involved weird dancing fruit. "Hey Eri, what's your favorite type of fruit?"

"Uhm... apples?"

You smile and open your hands, holding them together in front of you with your palms facing upward. "Watch this!" You then used your quirk to create an illusion of a tap-dancing apple with a top hat and a cane in your hands.

You watch as her eyes grow big and she stares at it in awe. "Wow..."

As you watch her reaction, you felt your smile fade a little bit... You were hoping to get her to laugh or at least give a small smile. You looked up to see that Midoriya and Togata were watching Eri with anticipation, but they also seemed disappointed when she didn't do either. It was almost like she didn't know how...

"How do you do that?" she finally asked.

You let the dancing apple disappear from your hands, and answered her question. "My quirk allows me to create illusions... What's your quirk?" Seeing that horn on her head, you assumed that she must have had one.

She looked confused for a second and Togata let out a nervous laugh. "Well, I hate to break it up, but we still have to show her the rest of the campus!"

You glanced up at him, "Oh, right! Sorry!" Before you stand back up you look at Eri once more. "It was very nice to meet you, Eri!" She nods her head silently and you get up and take a step back. You look back at Togata. "Will I see you two at the festival?"

"You bet!" he says with a bright smile.

We finally get to meet Mirio and Eri! :D By the way, I'm sorry we haven't been seeing a lot of Shinso's POV, but we'll see some more in the next one!
