36 - Training Camp

-Y/n POV-

You have a great time talking with everyone on the bus. Kaminari was embarrassed when he learned that you were the person that he bumped into on the day of the entrance exam, and he apologized profusely for running into you and calling you 'man'.

You smile to yourself. "Monoma was wrong... They're not snobs. Nearly everyone in 1A is kind and thoughtful."

After about an hour of driving, you all stop in a pull-over spot off of the main road that overlooks a large forest. Everyone gets out of the bus to stretch their limbs. "Finally! I needed off that bus!" Kaminari exclaims.

The small one, Mineta, runs around looking for a bathroom. "Let me get through! I gotta pee!!" You notice that there's some sort of black luxury sedan parked near the bus.

"This isn't much of a rest area..." says Kirishima.

"No... And where's class B?" adds the earphone girl, Jiro.

Then, Aizawa speaks up in his tired voice. "You don't really think we stopped here so you could stretch your legs, do you?"

"Huh?" Everyone seemed confused.

Then, the black sedan's front doors pop open, and you hear a girl's voice. "Heya, Eraser!"

"Long time no see," he responds. Then, out of the vehicle step two beautiful young women. They're in cute dresses, and they've got weird things on their heads that kind of look like cat ears. They've also got tails coming out of their dresses and large paws covering their hands. The one in the pink dress speaks first while spinning around and striking adorable poses.

"Your feline fantasies are here! Say mee-ow!"

Then the one in blue chimes in. "Purrrfectly cute and cat-like girls!"

"You can call us the..." They both strike a pose together. "... Wild, Wild, Pussycats!"

Aizawa then speaks up. "These are the pro heroes you'll be working with at the summer training camp."

While Midoriya starts fanboying over the girls and their careers, you think to yourself, "This is so weird..." You have to try not to laugh at them and their little costumes. Then, you remember that Shinso likes cats as well. "Wonder what he thinks of them..."

You look to him and find that his eyes are wide, and he's blushing some. "He... he's blushing... Does he actually... LIKE them?" You felt your heart drop a little bit and you put a hand on your chest. "Why does this make me feel so... sad?"

"Everyone, say hello," Aizawa orders.

"Hello! Nice to meet you!" exclaims the class. Your greeting was a little less enthusiastic than the others'.

"We own this whole stretch of land out here, everything you can see!" explains the pink Pussycat while indicating to the forest. She points into the distance. "The summer camp you're staying at is there, at the base of the mountain."

"That's far..."

"Uhh, then why did we stop all the way up here, instead?" asks Ochako.

"I'm afraid we both know the answer to that..." answers the frog girl, Tsu.

The guy with the big lips, Sato, shakes his head and voices his disbelief. "That can't be right..."

Sero starts laughing nervously. "Uhmm... Back on the bus, quick! Let's go."

"Good idea!" agrees Kaminari. "Load up!"

"The current time is 9:30 in the morning..." says the pink Pussycat while slowly waving her tail behind her. "If you're fast about it... you might make it there by noon."

"No way!" says Kirishima. He and everyone else looked horrified at this point. "GUYS!"

"Holy crap!" Mina isn't very enthused by the idea, either.

"SAVE YOURSELVES!" Everyone starts running toward the buses at once.

"Kitties who don't make it there by 12:30 won't get any lunch!" calls out the pink girl. You and Shinso weren't sure if you were going to be a part of this since you were supposed to be there for 'educational enrichment', so the two of you just stood in place.

"You should have guessed, students..." says Aizawa. "... The training camp has already begun."

The blue Pussycat then jumps forward and places her paws on the ground, emitting a blue light before the ground beneath you starts to shake. All at once, everyone – you and Shinso included – is blown off the side of the cliff and into the forest below. "Holy SHIT!!!" Everyone screams as they fly through the air, and you land on the ground with a loud *thud*. "FUCK... That hurt."

As you look up at the top of the cliff where you'd just been standing, you see the annoying pink Pussycat lean her head over the side. "Good news! Since this is private land, you can use your quirks as much as you want to! You've got three full hours... You should be able to make it to the facility in that time. That is... if you can get through The Beasts' Forest!"

"The what?" You slowly push yourself off of the ground and dust off your knees. Luckily, you were wearing your leggings beneath your skirt like usual, so you didn't get any scratches on your legs. You watch as Mineta runs into the forest. "Guess he still has to go to the bathroom..."

Just as he enters, you see that there's a huge monster waiting for him. In a flash of green lightning, Midoriya zips by and throws Mineta over his shoulder, jumping out of the way just as the monster brought its arm down to crush them. "Whoa..." You had seen a little bit of this newfound power of his during the 1A training class that you and Shinso had attended, but you still wondered where it came from.

All at once, everyone races into the forest to fight off the monsters. "They really don't hesitate, do they?" you think to yourself as you chase after them with Shinso not far behind. Once inside, you get a better look at the monsters... They seem to be made of rock. "Shit! My quirk only works psychologically... If these things don't have a brain, then it's pretty much useless." You turn around only to find another monster right behind you. "How did I miss this one?!" You panic for a minute; You may be able to fight, but you're not strong enough to take these things on by yourself.

It swings an arm toward you from the side and you bend backwards and duck, just barely avoiding it as it grazes past your nose. You quickly get up and see its other arm come down on you from above. You quickly jump to the side and dodge it, then you hear Shinso's voice from behind you. "L/n, look out!!!" You look up to see the creature's tail come rocketing at you. You don't have enough time to react, and you watch in shock as it comes barreling toward you. At that moment, you hear an explosion.

-Shinso POV-

You watch in horror as the beast's tail launches toward your best friend at breakneck speed. Everything seems to slow down for a second. "She's going to die... She's going to die right in front of me!"

An explosion then sounds from the side and you see Bakugo fly toward the monster and blast it to pieces in one shot. He lands on his feet as bits of rock fall all around him. He turns to L/n. "Your quirk's not so useful now, is it?" he says snarkily.

She had landed on her butt from the force of his explosion, and he walks over to her and holds out a hand. "What the hell is he doing?"

After a second, she takes it and he lifts her up. "Thank you," she says quietly.

He simply nods his head before running further into the forest. She just stands there and watches his retreating form and she doesn't move for a good three seconds. You felt an extreme sense of jealousy in that moment. "Damn him for showing off like that..."

         Ooooh, Shinso be jealous... :o
