23 - Forgiveness

-Y/n POV-

"Now let's take a look at who our top four teams are!" Present Mic announced. "In first place: Team Todoroki!"

"Todoroki? Hmm... Why do I feel like I've heard that name before?"

"In second place: Team Bakugo!"

You heard a scream in the distance and could only assume that it was the angry blonde who'd taken the second place spot.

"In third place is Tetsute- wait... WHAT? It's Team Shinso! When did they come back from the dead?!"

You felt your jaw drop. "WHAT THE HELL?!! HOW DID HE MANAGE THAT?!" You look around you until you found the violet-haired boy. He was smirking to himself and there were three guys behind him, all of whom were looking around, confused. "Seriously, how did he do it?"

-Shinso POV-

You had figured that L/n wouldn't want to be on your team for the cavalry battle... She was clearly still upset with you, and you didn't want to have to deal with that on one of the biggest days of your life. This was your chance to potentially be moved into the hero course... For you to have your dream come true. You were going to be a hero, no matter what!

You head to the cafeteria to get some food, when you hear L/n's voice. It was coming from around the corner, and it sounded like she was speaking to Togeike.

"Y/n! You were so awesome!"

"Thanks, Chikuchi! But I really hardly did anything... Our team leader was kind of an ass who was obsessed with beating class 1A. His obsession blinded him and we ended up losing. But on the bright side, I got this!"

You peek around the corner to see her holding up her hand, which appeared to have something scribbled on it in ink. "What's that?" asked Togeike.

"The other two guys on our team were impressed with how I knocked our leader off his high horse after the battle, and they gave me their numbers!"

You could hardly believe what you were hearing... She was getting numbers from random guys? "Why does that make me feel so... irritated?!" You stomped off in the opposite direction before you could hear anything else that would potentially upset you.

-Y/n POV-

"Y/n! You got all the boys chasing after you like *that*!" Chikuchi snapped her fingers to emphasize what she was saying, and she was giving you a cheeky smile.

"Nah, I'm just glad to be making friends... Anyway, have you seen Shinso?" You looked around for your other friend.

"No, I haven't seen him since right after the cavalry battle ended."

"Hm." You pondered for a moment what you should do... You really missed having him around, and you wanted to congratulate him on progressing to the final challenge. "I guess I'll have to find him later."

After getting some food, you and Chikuchi rejoined everyone else on the field. Midnight announced that the sixteen finalists would battle each other one-on-one. "Come closer and draw lots to see who you're up against." She explained that the finalists had the option of either participating in side games or resting up before the one-on-one battles. "I'll start with the first place team." Before Midnight could take another step, the boy with the tail raised his hand.
