-Y/n POV-You brought Shinso back to sit with you and the rest of your class, where he received more praise as well as many pats on the back. The smile on his face was a genuine one. He also had a hand on the back of his neck and was blushing a tiny bit, not quite sure how to handle so many words of encouragement all at once.
You all sat down together and watched the next match. It was that red/white-haired guy versus the elbow tape dude. Looking up at the big screen, you read their names. "So the ice guy is Todoroki? Hm... Why does that name sound familiar?" Todoroki beat the tape guy, Sero, by a landslide, completely encasing him in an ice prison before taking a moment to melt him free once his victory was announced. "Wait... He can control heat, too?? No wonder Bakugo called him 'Icy-Hot' earlier." Having spent time in America, you got the reference, and you let out a small chuckle. Shinso looked to you questioningly, but you waved it off. "Sorry, I just thought of something funny..."
You watched the next couple of matches until it was Yaoyorozu versus the shadow guy from earlier, Tokoyami. "C'mon, Yaoyorozu..." After that talk with her in the bathroom, you were rooting for this girl. She was so sweet and has an amazing quirk, so in your mind, she definitely deserves to advance to the next round. "GO, YAOYOROZU!!" you called out to her. You weren't sure if she could hear you, but she had earned your support nonetheless.
Your classmates looked at you, confused. "Do you know that girl, or something?" Chikuchi asked.
"I actually met her earlier, and she gave me some pretty good advice." You figured you'd leave it at that. For now at least, that conversation was going to stay between you and the ponytail girl.
Once the match started, you watched as Tokoyami used his shadow creature to attack, but she created shields from her arms to block. Each attack from Tokoyami was targeted directly at her shields, so it was obvious that he didn't want to seriously hurt her. This guy wasn't even giving her a chance to fight back, though; He kept attacking and attacking until she was eventually pushed out of bounds. You felt so bad for her – and she looked like she was about to cry. Wanting to run to her and comfort her, you decided against it. "If she needs any support, it should come from the people who know her best."
The next match was between the two guys who got crushed by the robots in the obstacle course – Kirishima and Tetsutetsu were their names. This fight must've gone on for at least fifteen minutes... Their powers were evenly matched. Eventually, they'd knocked each other out and Midnight stated that there would be an arm-wrestling tie-breaker for the two of them.
The next match was between Bakugo and the floaty girl that you also saw in the obstacle course – Uraraka. You weren't sure what to expect from him this time around... He was fighting a girl, one-on-one. You turned to Shinso. "You know him personally... Do you think he's going to hold back at all?"
He narrowed his eyes in thought. "It's hard to say... With his hotheaded personality, I wouldn't be too surprised if he went all out. Since she's from his class and they know each other, there's a chance that he might take it easy on her... But once this guy's head is set to win, that's all he cares about. You saw how he was in the cavalry battle, didn't you?"
You nod your head. "Up close and personal." Shinso was right – Bakugo wouldn't hold out on anyone or anything if it's a competition... Not even this small girl. You couldn't help but be a bit concerned for her.
The next few minutes were nerve-wracking, to say the least. From what you saw of her quirk, you figured that all Uraraka needed to do was to touch him and make him float out of the ring. Every time she got close to him though, he would blast her away with one of with his explosions. Pretty soon, everyone was starting to 'Boo' at Bakugo for being so rough with her. You noticed that the ground beneath them had broken apart from the force of the detonations, but... "Where's all the broken pieces?" You looked around the ring, trying to spot them, but you couldn't. "Huh..." You leaned back into your seat in confusion. That's when your eyes traveled upward...
"She'll die if they keep this up!" Chikuchi huffed as she crossed her arms.
"I wouldn't be too sure..." You pointed up, and your friend followed your trail of vision.
All of the debris from the floor of the ring was floating a hundred or so feet above Bakugo's head. You watched as Uraraka touched her fingers together and all of the pieces came plummeting down.
"A METEOR SHOWER!!!" Present Mic yelled.
As the rock pieces fell towards Bakugo, he raised his arm. The girl came running straight for him to touch him, but he fired off the biggest explosion you've ever seen from him... And took out all of the falling debris in one shot. Uraraka was knocked to the ground from the force of the blow.
"Oh my God..." Everyone's mouth hung open... even Shinso's.
The girl slowly got back up. As soon as she was standing, Bakugo came running for her. But when she went to charge at him again, her legs gave out from beneath her and Bakugo stopped in his tracks once she hit the ground. You watched as she tried to crawl toward him. "This is so sad..."
Her head soon fell and Midnight stepped forward to check on her condition. "Uraraka is K.O.-ed... Bakugo advances to the second round."
The crowd cheered and the girl was taken away on a stretcher. "What an asshole..." Chikuchi muttered to herself.
"I don't know... I don't think he was that bad." You had to respond.
"WHAT?! How can you say that??" She was shocked at your statement, so you felt the need to explain.
"He didn't try to attack her while she was down... And he only fought back whenever she came for him. He was on defense practically the whole time."
Chikuchi was silent as she swallowed your words. "Huh, I didn't think about that... Maybe he's not so bad, after all."
Chikuchi... Are you becoming interested in the hedgehog from class 1A? x) I'll upload the next one later today.
