-Y/n POV-As you sat on the bed in Recovery Girl's office putting your shirt back on, you hear a knock at the door.
"Come in!" A familiar head of violet hair pokes through the doorway and you smile. "Hey, Shinso."
He enters the room and closes the door behind him. "How's your arm?"
"It's not too bad... Recovery Girl said that she healed it as much as she could, but that it's still going to leave a scar." You shrugged your shirt back off and showed it to him. (You were still in your sports bra, so it was fine.) "I've actually always wanted a sick scar... I'll have to be sure to thank Bakugo later," you said with a smirk.
He came in and sat down on the bed next to you as you put your shirt back on. You could tell right away that something was bothering him. "What's wrong, Shinso?" He was hanging his head and looking down at his hands. You got the last button on your shirt and leaned forward to get a better look at his face. "... Shinso?"
"... Sorry, it's just... I wish I could've done more to help you when you got hurt."
"Not this again..."
"Shinso..." He looked up at you and spoke again before you could continue.
"That Todoroki guy was able to help ease the pain by giving you ice... And what did I do? Nothing."
"Shinso, that's not true and you know it. You brought me here to Recovery Girl. What Todoroki did was offer me a temporary fix, but you helped bring me to someone who could actually treat my injury." Without thinking, you put a hand on one of his. "You were my hero today, Shinso."
You watched his whole face turn pink, and you felt your face get hot, too. You quickly pulled your hand away and put it on the back of your head. "A-Anyway, if you still feel bad about it, I have a way for you to make it up to me..."
"... And what's that?"
"Help me study for the general studies hero camp exam."

-Shinso POV-
You were approaching the main building the next morning when you saw that tail guy from the Sports Festival. He was a few yards ahead of you, and your mind went back to what L/n had said during the hero students' training class the day prior. 'You know, you should really apologize to him. I think, if you word it right, he'll at least listen to you'. You sigh. "Why am I doing this?"
You ran up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?"
He turned around and his eyes went wide as soon as he saw you. He immediately clamped his mouth shut to prevent from saying anything. After seeing this, you sigh again and place your hand on the back of your neck.
"Listen... I just want to apologize for what I did at the Sports Festival. When we were forming teams for the cavalry battle, I didn't know anyone and I didn't expect anyone to want to team up with me." His expression slowly neutralized as you continued to talk.
"I want to be a hero more than anything... And the only way I knew how was to make sure that I advanced to the next challenge. I used my quirk on you to ensure my advancement... But I didn't think about how it would affect you. I wasn't expecting you to withdraw yourself from the one-on-one battles... I know you did that because it was the right thing to do, and for that..." You looked away before mumbling, "... you're more of a man than I am." He was clearly surprised by your confession, but you finished your apology anyway. "Anyway, I don't expect you to forgive me... I just want you to know that I'm sorry." You stuffed your hand into your pocket and walked past him.
You had only taken a few steps when he called out to you. "Hey..." You stop and turn to face him halfway. He took a deep breath before he continued. "Thank you... for your apology." He then gave a small smile. "I'll accept it."
You couldn't help the look of surprise that crossed your face. You weren't expecting him to forgive you, especially not that easily. "Wha- really?"
He chuckled a bit before walking up to stand beside you. "Yeah. Now that I know the reason behind it, I don't blame you for what you did. Heck, if I were desperate and in your situation, I'd probably do the same thing." You both continued walking to your respective classes.
"I gotta say, I wasn't expecting you to forgive me so quickly." You had to voice your surprise.
"... You wanna start over as friends?" He held his hand out to you as you walked, and you smiled and took it.
"Sure. I'm Shinso."
"My name's Ojiro. It's nice to meet you, Shinso."
-------------------------------
After your chat with Ojiro that morning, you felt much better; It was like a weight had been lifted off of your shoulders. Maybe one day, you'll make up with the other two guys that you brainwashed, but for now, it was nice to have made at least one friend from the whole ordeal. But despite feeling better, you were still nervous about something else...
Tonight was the night that you and L/n would be studying together for the hero camp exam. You were nervous about L/n coming to your house, meeting your mom, and seeing your room. You'd spent the evening before cleaning up your space so that you'd have somewhere to sit and study, and you hoped that it was clean enough; You had no idea if she was a neat freak, and you didn't want to ask.
As you entered the classroom, you saw that L/n hadn't arrived yet. Togeike was in her usual spot and you made your way over to her. "Hey, Togeike."
"Oh hey, Shinso! What's up?"
"L/n and I are going to study at my place for the hero camp exam that's coming up, and I was wondering if you wanted to join us."
She put a finger to her chin and thought for a few moments. Then you watched as a smirk slowly crept across her face. "What's she up to?"
"Nah... I don't want to intrude on your study date."
"It-It's not a date..." You'd never really talked to Togeike without L/n present, so it was weird to hear her say something like that.
"Are you sure about that?" She kept smirking.
"It's not a date... Right?"
"Hey guys, whatcha talking about?" You jumped and turned around to find that L/n had joined in on the conversation.
"Oh, nothing..." Togeike then pushed her chair back and kicked her legs up onto her desk, resting her hands on the back of her head. "We're just talking about how excited Shinso is for your study date." You looked to L/n nervously and saw that her cheeks had gone pink.
"I was just asking if she wanted to join us." You did your best not to stutter as you spoke.
"O-Oh! Did you want to join us, Chikuchi?" L/n asked looking to her friend, who shook her head.
"No, I'll be fine... You guys are the ones that need help. Shinso is better at math than anyone else, so he can help you with that subject, and you're the best at English, so you can help him there. I'll just get in the way."
"All right, if you're sure..." L/n said as she took her seat. While she was sitting down, Togeike looked to you again and you saw that smirk of hers return. You turned and headed to your own seat before L/n could see how pink your face had gotten.
"... It's not a date, right?"
In the next one, we'll meet Mr. Shinso and we'll see Mrs. Shinso again!
