Teddy Lupin

The sky above was covered with stormy grey clouds that were pouring ice cold rain and you were running down walkways soaking wet. It's winter break and you just ran away from the hellhole that you called a home, when you were sorted into Gryffindor in first year, your parents started to physically abuse you but this year when they found out that you were friends with 'blood traitors' and 'mudbloods' they started to use the cruciatus curse on you. This evening you finally got the courage to actually run away from your parents, the only person that you trust is your best friend Edward Lupin- everyone calls him Teddy instead of Edward though- so you found yourself carrying a heavy trunk all the way to his House/Manor. 

You walked up the doorsteps up to the front door, with your long e/c hair sticking to the side of your face, and it took everything in you to knock on the door. The knock was soft and you thought that no one probably heard it but lucky for you Teddy was walking past the door when you knocked. Teddy was curious as to who would be here at this hour but something in him was yelling at him to open the door and so he did. He was shocked to see the woman he loved- sorry his best friend at the door soaking wet with tears in her eyes. 

"Y-Y/n-?" Teddy stammered with confusion and shock written on his face. You dropped your small bag that you were carrying in your left hand and ran to Teddy, while wrapping your arms around his shoulders. Teddy was confused so it took him a second to wrap his arms around you but when he did you completely collapsed and let the cold tears stream down your face that you didn't realize you were holding in. Eventually you stopped crying and the two of you just stood there in each others embrace but when the two of you heard someone stomping down the stairs you jumped away from Teddy. 

"Teddy? Why didn't you come back?" Lily asked in her cute little voice that always made you think that she was the most adorable girl in the world. When Lily saw you she squealed and ran towards you wrapping her arms around your waist. Teddy laughed when he saw you pick her up. 

"Hey, Lily pad how are you?" You asked the small girl, Lily grinned and giggled before answering. 

"I'm doing amazing, y/n!" Lily giggled, you gently put her down after awhile and the girl went right back up the stairs. When Lily came back down she came down with one of her brothers, James. He saw you and since he is the oldest of the Potter's he didn't run towards you he walked up to you and gave you a hug small hug unlike his sister. 

"Hey James. Where's Albus?" You asked curious as to where the other boy was. James told you that he was off with his friend Scorpius and he soon went back up the stairs to his room. Harry walks into the room a few seconds later and when he saw how terrible you looked his father mode instantly kicked in. 

"Y/n, oh my what happened? You're soaking wet!" Harry exclaims walking over to you and looking at you trying to find out why you were like this. You loved Harry like your own father and you were glad that he actually cared for you like you were his daughter. 

"I'm fine, and yeah it's pouring outside" You told him rubbing your arms to kind of warm yourself up from being stuck in wet clothes that were making you feel like a popsicle. 

"Hey (uncle) Harry can Y/n stay here tonight?" Teddy asked opening the front door and going out and getting your small bag from the porch of the house. Harry gave Teddy a skeptical look but smiled and gave a soft nod

"Yes she can, y/n you can stay in Teddy's room" Harry said while walking towards the hallway that leads to his bedroom.

You nodded and made your way up the stairs then into Teddy's room. When you got in there you hesitentley went over to his copper colored dresser and got out one of his multiple pairs of sweatpants and one of his many Beatles t-shirts, then went into the bathroom to change. When you were done, you walked back into Teddy's room and sat down on his bed again.

Teddy was walking up the stairs with your surprisingly small bag and when he walked into his room, his jaw literally dropped to the floor and his heart started beating very madly in his chest. You were wearing his favorite shirt and his sweatpants and even though they were both about two sizes too big for you, Teddy just thought you looked even better wearing his clothes rather than your own. Man i'm falling in way to deep with this girl, Teddy thought to himself. 

"I hope this is okay. It's just my clothes were soaking wet and i didn't have any other clothes to wear" You told him with a shy smile that you don't usually wear as you motioned to his clothes that you were wearing at the moment. 

"Y-yeah yeah you-you- it's fine you can b-borrow anything" Teddy said with a bright blush clearly evident on his face as he avoided your gaze. You started to take blankets and pillows off the bed, making a small bed on the ground. Teddy saw this and immediately stopped you from going any farther

"No no no you're taking the bed" 

"But-" 

"No buts y/n"

"Fine" you slowly sat back down on the bed again as you undid the quidditch sheets that were covering the bed and got underneath them, you found them more comfortable than you would have ever thought. For some reason Teddy had some trouble keeping his hazel eyes off of you as you layed back against the blue pillow case covered pillows on his bed. Teddy eventually made a bed on the floor and lyed on his back as he stared up at his plain white ceiling, the only thing on his mind at the moment was you

. After awhile Teddy looked over at you and saw that you were almost asleep which made him smile at how peaceful you looked, he said a wandless spell and the lights turned off, not too long after Teddy slowly drifted from reality and into a dreamless sleep.

About three seconds after you stopped mumbling things in your sleep, you jolted up from the blue pillows shaking uncontrolably. Every single night since you were twelve you have had nightmares about your parents using their powers to kill or severely hurt Teddy. Tonight, in your dream, your mother somehow found out that you and Teddy were best friends and brought him to the house only so that she could use the killing curse on him. Cold tears were streaming down over your already tearstained cheeks at the moment and the thunder and lightning outside made you jump while pulling your blankets more securely around you. 

Something you should know about Teddy Lupin; he is a very light sleeper. When he is in a deep sleep the sound of one of his siblings tiptoeing by his room wakes him up and he can't go to sleep after that. Teddy was woken up tonight by the sound of quiet sobs coming from above him. He groggily lifted his head off of his pillow and looked up at the bed only to see you shaking and sobbing. Instantly, Teddy's 'boyfriend' instincts kicked in and he felt the uncontrolable need to comfort you. So, after wiping his eyes with his hands he stood up and sat down on the edge of the bed. 

"Y/n" Teddy tried as he put a hand on your knee in a comforting type of way. But you were so scarred from the nightmare or very realistic dream that you accidentally jumped at the touch. 

"Y/n, it's me Teddy" Teddy said in a comforting tone. This time you didn't jump but instead just started sobbing, Teddy sighed and layed down next to you. 

"B-but y-you died- i w-watched it hap-pen" You tried to say between sobs, Teddy wrapped his arm around your waist securely and started whispering sweet nothings in your ear. In all honesty, that's all you need to calm down, all you need is Teddy Lupin in your life and you're fine. 

"It's okay i'm here" Teddy whispered as you turned a little just to get a small glimpse at him to make sure that this whole thing wasn't a dream. When you saw Teddy really did have his arm around you and that this whole thing wasn't a dream, you smiled and grabbed his hand that was wrapped around you while intertwining it with yours. Finally, after about half an hour you calmed down. 

"Thank you Teddy...I love-" you were about to finish with I love you but what if he didn't feel the same way? Would he leave you? Teddy leaving you was the thing that terrified you the most, it's one of the only things that keep you up at night when you can't sleep. Teddy smiled and pulled you closer knowing what you were going to say only a few seconds ago, the two of you had gotten so close over the years, that he could practically read your mind most of the time. 

"I love you too Y/n" Teddy whispered before placing a soft kiss on the back of your ear, making you smile goofily, and soon the both of you drifted off into a nightmareless sleep tangled in each others embrace.
