The full moon was just a few days ago and it took a lot of energy out of Remus, and he hasn't been getting much sleep lately so when he entered the Gryffindor common room to study with his friend, Lily Evans, he had a tired look on his face. Lily noticed him walk in and she smiled, as she moved over so that he could have the other end of the couch. It's their seventh year at hogwarts so they tend to have more work than usual, but it hardly bothered anyone, especially Lily and Remus because they actually study in their free time. Remus quickly got a book out of his bag but just as he started reading the potions book, Sirius walked into the common room, gave each Lily and Remus a smile, then walked up to his dorm. After that, Remus couldn't concentrate on anything in front of him because all he could think about was that smile that Sirius wore. 

"Remus." Lily finally says after a few minutes. Remus's head snaps up from the book, that he was clearly not reading. 

"Yeah?" Remus questioned as Lily stopped what she was doing and set her stuff down beside her. 

"Why aren't you paying any attention to what we're doing?" She quizzed turning her body to face him, she thinks that she knows the reason but she would rather know a hundred percent that she's right before saying anything about it. 

"W-what do you mean?" 

"Come on Rem, ever since Sirius walked in you haven't been concentrating." Lily says in a friendly but duh tone. 

"How do y-you know i'm not paying attention when were b-both working." Remus tries but Lily just rolls her emerald green eyes. 

"You're book's upside down." Lily motioned to the book in Remus's hands. Remus glances down at the book and it is in fact upside down. 

"Oh...Alright maybe it has something to do with Sirius." Remus admitted after a few seconds with a small smile, maybe or maybe not thinking about the shorter boy.  

"Does it have something to do with the fact that you are completely in love with him?" Lily questioned with a joking type of tone to her voice even though she was genuinely curious. Of course, at this moment Sirius had to come down the stairs and when he heard Lily say that to Remus he became curious as to who they were talking about, so he stayed hidden even though he knew that eavesdropping wasn't the best thing to be doing to his best friend. 

"What-How d-did you know?" Remus asked slightly confused but also feeling slightly nervous for some reason. 

"It's obvious Rem. The 'secret' glances during classes, the way you smile lovingly at him when he talks or makes jokes, the way you blush whenever he so much as walks into a room." Lily explains, now with a small teasing smile on her face.

Sirius felt his heart drop at this, he has been love with the werewolf since they first met and he 'knew' that his feelings would never be returned but he still had hope. Actually he was coming down here to see if Remus would go to hogsmeade with him this weekend but now all or at least most of his hopes were gone hearing that Remus was already in love with someone else. Remus just sat there, silent, for a few minutes wondering if he really was that obvious but before he could say anything more about the subject, Sirius decided to stop eavesdropping. So, with a small amount of tears in his eyes, Sirius made his way back up to the dorm where James was clearly waiting for him to come back. 

"So what'd he say?" James asked impatiently but instead of answering, Sirius just went over to his bed and buried his face in his pillow. James understood what was happening, and knew just to let Sirius be with himself for a few minutes before asking questions.

The next morning went almost normally. Remus was the first to get up at six thirty in the morning along with Lily, James was the second one to get up at seven fifteen and had to wake Peter and Sirius also. But Sirius was feeling a bit down and everyone could see it even if he tried to hide it. When the three made it to the great hall for breakfast, where Remus and Lily already were, they sat in their usual places. James sat beside Lily, Peter sat beside James who was sitting across from Remus, and Sirius took the seat next to Remus.
