"I'll get started on getting a warrant for the security tapes and I'll let you know what happens" Michael's friend Matt met us at our building when Michael called, I guess I'm lucky he's friends with a cop
"If I were to get it on video somehow, does that count as proof?" Michael asked, Im still in shock that get got into the building AND up to our floor
"If the video shows him close to Katie yes" Matt responded
"perfect thank you Matt" again they did their bro hug before Matt hugged me goodbye as well
Matt also informed the front desk and security that Jake cannot be around here and if they see him to detain him, so I guess that's slightly reassuring
"Do you just wanna stay in tonight?" Michael walked over to me and pulled me in for a hug "we can watch a movie" he spoke into my hair as he rested his cheek on my head. Part of me wants to stay in bed all night but the other part of me doesn't want to let him win. I pulled away from the hug and looked Michael in the eyes
"Lets go on our date"
"are you sure?" he looked concerned
"Yes, I'm not giving him the satisfaction of being scared and staying in. I want to have a good night with you" he smiled before speaking
"How long will it take you to get ready?" at this point its already past 5, originally he had told me to be ready by 6
"Depends, are we going somewhere really fancy, kind of fancy or not fancy"
"really fancy" he spoke between his chuckles
"than an hour"
"okay, I'm starting the clock now"
"Killed it"
I said to myself as I looked in the mirror, I dont want to toot my own horn but I look damn good. I wore a navy blue strapless jumpsuit that hugged my body perfectly and had a deep v cut, I left my hair down and curled some loose curls into it, I put on a cute pearl necklace and wore white heels to match the necklace. I didn't go too crazy with makeup to not take away from my outfit

a knock on my bedroom door startled me a bit
"Coming!" I reached for my white clutch purse to tie everything in and opened the door to a jaw dropping Michael
He stood in front of me in black dress pants and a white dress shirt, but he looks different than he does during the work week. His dress shirt wasn't buttoned up all the way, he had the top two buttons open, and he didn't have a tie like he would during the week at work. He looked sexier than normal
In his hands were a bouquet of what looked to be 2 dozen roses, from how full they looked. He stood there with a smile on his face as he looked me up and down.
"Right on time" he said as he looked as his watch "and looking damn good" he leaned in and gave me a kiss, placing the flowers in my hand in the process
"Thank you, you're looking really good yourself" I walked by him, feeling his eyes on my body as I walked into the kitchen to find a vase, which was my goal anyway
"I'm going to look even better with you next to me" I must admit, he's really good at the sweet talk "ready to go?"
We arrived at the restaurant only 20 minutes after leaving our place, Michael drove up to the front door and handed the keys to the valet. The big sign on the building read Provera's, a name unknown to me at all but it looked incredibly fancy. Michael put his hand on my lower back, guiding me inside.
"Mister Stuart" The man at the front desk smiled when he saw Michael "It's so good to see you again"
"You too Richard" Michael smiled back "give me the nicest table for two that you have"
"Of course Mister Stuart, follow me" he guided us through the restaurants to a set of stairs, we made our way up the stairs to what seemed to be a private area from the fact that there wasn't as many people up here
We followed him to the balcony where there were only a few tables, the balcony overlooked Lake Carolyn which only made it 10x more perfect. The sunset reflected on the water and made the atmosphere feel romantic. We took our seats and within what felt like seconds a server was at our table to get our drink orders.
The evening was beautiful, we talked about our lives. I found out that being an engineer runs in his family so he knew he would be one before he even graduated high school. He told me he has a sister who also lives in Houston along with his parents. I told him that my parents lived in Canada all their lives but had passed away when I was a kid and that besides my brother, I have a sister who lives in Canada. I told him that my favorite tv show is The Office and he said his is Brooklyn 99, and we argued about why I think Iron Man is best and why he thinks Thor is best.
"Are we having dessert tonight?" The server took our now empty dinner plates into his hands
"I'm stuffed" I spoke up
"I'll just take the check" Michael replied to the server who returned not long after with the little black folder thing that holds the bill for the meal.
"Before you go can I ask for a favor?" Michael stopped the server from leaving after bringing the check
"sure"
"Can you take a picture of us?" I wasn't expecting him to ask that, but something about it warmed my heart. The server took the phone from Michael and we stood up and stood near the railing that looked over to the water.
Michael put his arm around my waist, pulling me close to him. I put an arm around him and the other hand on his stomach. I heard the click come from the phone signaling that the picture was taken; Michael put his hand under my chin, lifting my head up to face him and pressed his lips onto mine.
"I don't think I've ever been out here at night" I snuggled up close to Michael as we sat on a cold bench facing the water. We had walked around the small sidewalk that bordered the lake and decided to sit for a little bit before heading home.
"Neither have I" he had his left arm around me, his hand sat right on my left hip while I rested my right arm on his thigh "I only knew of this restaurant from Mr Baker" he admitted
"It's so peaceful, I really like it" I rested my head on his shoulder
"Katie" My head shot up, and my body tensed up. I could feel the change in Michael's body as well when he heard my name come from behind us. I stood up and turned around, facing Jake as he stared at me. Michael quickly got up and stood next to me
"What are you doing here" Michael got defensive "you can't be here"
"Katie I love you" he spoke as he began to slowly get closer to us, I looked next to me and saw that Michael had pulled out his phone and started recording
"Let's get out of here" Michael grabbed my hand and started pulling me away, all while still recording
"Katie please" Jake tried getting closer but we had already began walking away
"Keep walking and don't look back" Michael had me walk in front of him while he made sure that Jake wasn't following, I quickened my pace to try to get to the car as soon as I could and didn't stop until I finally took a seat in the car
