Prim's POV:After we say goodbye to Beckett, we immediately went back to Fabian's ship where all of his crew are waiting, ready to go back to the ocean and sail.
Even though my stay in the island of Czinghuar is short, I'll definitely miss the ambiance of it. Also, I'll miss Beckett and all the inhabitants of the island whom I befriended for the past days I was given the chance to stay.
Sigh.
Currently now, we are in the middle of the ocean and we are heading to the direction of the island in question, it's name I still haven't learned untill this very moment.
It's nearly four in the afternoon, two more hours untill the sun finally sets for the day.
While I am staring at the beautiful view of the ocean and thinking about random things that crosses my mind, I felt a presence behind me. I didn't need to look behind to know who it was as his voice made his presence known beforehand.
"The ocean is beautiful, isn't it?" He asked me and also looked at the scenery before us.
"It is..." Is my only reply to his question. We stayed quiet for a while, just staring at the ocean and completely in the depths of our own worlds. "Do you know the story about two lovers who never had a happy ending?" Fabian asked me, cutting me from my imaginations.
I simply shook my head, indicating that I haven't heard nor have any idea of the story.
"It goes way back thousand of years ago when marriage was still being decided by the parents, completely different from this modern age-" I looked at him and listened."-there was a Princess who was forced to be betrothed to a man she doesn't even love, nor she have the slightest attraction. It was the day before their wedding and the princess, with her servants, went to stroll into the sea. The princess stared at the endless ocean while thinking about why she can't decide for herself and choose the man she love to marry, though that time, the princess didn't have a lover." Fabian paused a bit to look at me for a second then returned his gaze to the view before us before continuing.
"While she was deep in her thoughts, a sea creature rised from the ocean, it was a sea dragon. The servants were so frightened and hurriedly scurried away back to the castle but the princess remained, unfazed by the creature before her. The sea dragon instantly fell in love with the princess when he saw her. He transformed himself into a human and the princess also instantly fell in with him. That time, the princess didn't care that she was about to get married. The kingdom's knights together with the princess' father, the king, attacked the sea dragon but even though they altogether fought the creature, defeating it was impossible because the sea dragon had complete control of the ocean.
"Along their fight, the princess interfered and stopped her Father, announcing that she loves the sea dragon. Angered by his daughter's confession and thinking that the sea dragon bewitched his daughter into falling in love with him, the king accidentally stabbed his daughter, killing her in the process." Fabian sighed. He is so focused on his story that he didn't notice me playing with the ring that is fixated on his right index finger.
"The sea dragon saw what happened to his beloved and in rage, he eliminated everyone in his sight, including the king. He approached his beloved who was already dead by then and cursed the kingdom to sink into the depths of the ocean, never to see the light ever again." after his narration, I finally connected the dots that maybe, the island we are heading is the cursed island from his story.
"I believe that the island we are heading to, that is not named in your map, is the island which the sea dragon cursed.." Fabian stated.
"I figured, but, how can we find this island?" I asked him and averted my eyes back to the beautiful ocean.
