The Power of Mayse Son | KPOP JUNKEE

recently we haven't had much of an update on our sm princess, mayse son aside from pandora's excellent and refreshing summer comeback and her company's updates, but apart from that, we haven't heard much from her.

now, i was chilling in my home, you know listening to how you like that, as we all should and i realised just how much power mayse has as an individual.

let's start with her 'privileges' of being sm's princess.

now i do not think she has as many privileges as jennie does in yg. now you might disagree with me, but here's my reasoning.

mayse has been at sm since she was six - internationally. so she basically grew up at sm and the artists and staff there was practically her family in korea when her biological family was in america. so when it comes to dating, i see it more of lee sooman being a father figure, approving of her significant other rather than it is a privilege.

even more, she was the first member to go solo only after a year of debuting. again, she trained for ten years and truly does deserve the solo debut, even the nct members agreed to it.

secondly, jw entertainment and her family.

day one nctzens would know, that mayse's late father, son jaewon was a successful ceo of a music production company that specialised in music videos for other artists.

and she has said prior to ever inheriting the company that she would never take over the company unless her dad believed she was ready to handle it. whereas, her brother, youngjae was to inherit the company from the beginning.

so, with her being sm's princess and being a co-ceo of a multimillionaire company, you'd already know just how much power the girl has alone.

but now, let's talk about when she uses her power.

mayse uses her ceo power to great use when it comes to refunding and properly caring for her artists.

eye candy is jw's first girl group to debut aside from pandora. and the members have expressed just how much they enjoy being under the company and how kind and understanding their staff are.

when her world tour was cancelled, mayse issued an apology and refunded everyone who bought tickets and sent all of them signed albums and gift baskets as an apology.

and when eunchae left stray kids and jyp, jw took eunchae under their wing and was her representative till eunchae signed with a company as a soloist.

even sasaengs are afraid of her.

remember when she called out the sasaengs that were calling dreamies saying she'd sue them and they stopped automatically?

i mean, i wouldn't do anything for that to happen to me.
