"welcome back to the kpop daebak show, i am your host - eric nam and today's special guest is the wonderful mayse son of nct," eric introduced the young idol who sat across from him on the large couch, adjusting the microphone in front of her. "so hi hello, welcome to the show," he greeted the female who smiled at him.

"hi, thank you for having me here," she beamed brightly as she listened to eric continue on with his show. "it is such an honour to be interviewed by the best - mc, korea has seen," mayse added strong accents to certain words to show her excitement and slight sarcasm.

"okay, let's start off right off the bat with jw entertainment," eric swung his head around to face the girl after grabbing some papers from the desk beside him. "how did uh how did that kinda happen? like were you excepting to become the new ceo or?" he wondered as mayse adjusted her position on the couch.

"oh no actually," she started as eric listened to her explanation. "originally it was my dad's company," she informed the senior idol who nodded. "and it was called son music production and as the name stated - we mainly focused on production-based projects. after my dad passed away last year, my older brother and i were left to inherit his company so my brother and i decided to become co-owners and redesign the company to uh contribute my dad," she elaborated with minimal hand gestures.

"oh first of all i am so sorry about your dad, secondly that is crazy!" eric ushered with a shocked face. "have you like grown the company?" he questioned further.

"you're fine eric," mayse waved a dismissive hand to him before answering his questions. "um right now, all we have expanded to is clothing stores. we have our own personal designer who happens to be my friend and she works with our artists and our partner companies," she elaborated with a nod.

"do you plan on expanding more?" eric wondered to the girl, leaning on his side as he stared at her.

"uh right now i think my brother is thinking about starting an art gallery for idols and other artists," mayse explained, scratching the bridge of her nose. "i don't really have any want to expand our current business."

"oh wow and are you both majored in business?" eric pointed at the girl, asking more about her brother and herself.

"i'm in college right now majoring in business and i minor in law," she informed the senior who awed at her words. "my brother - he studied film and production," she smiled. "my sister is in high school and she is planning on majoring in creative writing."

"wow so you guys are like - an art family," eric exclaimed as mayse laughed, nodding in agreement, elaborating on how artistic her family was, going into detail about how her mother used to be an artist ( according to her dad ), her dad was a music production director, her stepbrother was an actor, her older brother was a photographer and a model, her brother in law was a content creator and her sister dream of being a writer. "what about you? when did you think you wanted to be a singer?"

"i think i've always known it," mayse said, scrunching up her face as she thought as to how she could further explain herself. "i remember when i was really young, my dad would bring me to work and i'd watch him work with these amazing artists and i think that was definitely a big influence in my decision of being a singer," she said to him.

"when did you move to korea?" he asked the female.

"i moved here when i was six," she said with a nod, shocking the senior idol who repeated her words with shock running through his voice. mayse laughed at his reaction as she held her hands together, leaning back as she listened to eric's meltdown.

"and you're 20 now aren't you?!" he asked hurriedly as mayse nodded, enjoying watching eric's meltdown of her age. "w-what?! how is that even possible?!"

"i-i was scouted by sooman himself," mayse began after calming herself down from her laughter. "he...brought me to korea himself and he took care of me for my dad - cause him and my dad were really close friends," she continued to explain her trainee days. "when i first began, i trained for like...i think an hour per day? because i was so little," her eyes widen slightly as she spoke. "but as i aged, i trained for longer hours and yeah," she sighed with a soft smile.

"what about school? did you have like a childhood growing up?" he wondered, shock still evident in his voice as he learnt about mayse's long life of training.

"i...did go to school," she sighed into the microphone. "i didn't have a lot of friends growing up because the first few friends i did made ended up using me for money, so it was hard for me to trust people. i would say my childhood mainly consisted of training and spending time inside the company," she nodded as eric gave her a sympathetic look. "don't feel bad! i-it's fine! really! everyone at the company is like family to me!" she reassured.

"how close are you to everyone at sm? like i hear that people call you sooman's nonbiological daughter," eric commented.

"well i was in his care for nearly half of my life," mayse stated the obvious with a chuckle. "but uh i'm really close to everyone - like the super junior members and girls' generation members would take turns in babysitting me," mayse explained with a bright smile, recalling all her memories as a young girl. "sometimes i would sneak into their practices and just talk to the members."

"oh wow that's actually so fascinating to know," eric commented, glancing at the staff before looking back at mayse who readjusted her position on the couch. the pair talked a bit more about her trainee days before they moved onto her group: nct. "how is it? being is such a large group?" eric asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

"it's actually more fun than people expected," she chuckled. "like i feel like many would believe we get into so many fights because of how many of us there is. like we might have tiny disputes here and there but overall we're just all really friends and like a family in a way," she explained with a smile. after a bit more talking, eric ended the podcast with mayse saying the final goodbye to the listeners.
