Chapter 30

Andrew dismisses his class early when he received a phone call from Sareena. Gusto umano itong kausapin ng kaniyang Lola, ang tunay na Lola ni Kish.

He drives his car to East Tail Hospital. As soon as he parks, hesitation is still on his mind. It's been days since he learned about the truth, yet everytime he sees Kish, images from the incident kept on playing on his mind, making it real as if he was an audience on the happening. His parents never deny nor confirm about Kish's identity and now, he understands.

His mom is right. He may not be there when she was born, he not only believed but also felt that Kish is his. Nothing should and will change.

Lumabas siya ng sasakyan at Agad tinungo ang kwarto na inuukupa nina Sareena at ng Lola nito. The next day when he found out about them, he called Josh and asked for a Private investigator. Hindi dahil sa hindi siya naniniwala sa dalaga, but he wants to know their family background. This could be a scam or a threat pulled against him, who knows. Hindi na siya maaaring muling magpadalus dalos pa.

Bukod sa totoong Patay na nga sina Dina at Denzel, Patay na rin ang lolo ni Sareena, si Pacencio Allunar, na asawa ng nasa ospital niyang Lola, si Diosdada Allunar. Namatay ito four year ago dahil inatake sa puso pagkatapos magsuicide ni Dina. Ang Matandang babae naman ay na stroke kaya hindi na makalakad, at dahil sa katandaan ay labas masok sa ospital. Nakasangla sa bangko ang bahay at Lupa ng pamilya. Hindi rin Tumutulong sa pagpapagamot ang ibang mga anak nito at kapatid dahil sa mapagmalupit na ugali nito nang bago ma stroke. At si Sareena ang Tumutulong rito sa araw-araw. She's only 17 at hindi na nag-aaral dahil sa nangyari sa matanda. Siya ay pamangkin ng dalawang babae at pinabayaan na rin ng Ina nitong nakapangasawa ng hapon sa Japan.

Pagkapasok sa silid na okupado ng mga ito, sinalubong siya ni Sareena at dinala sa kamang hinihigaan ng Matandang Ginang. May dextrose sa kamay at oxygen na isang tangke sa gilid Lang ng Kama. Halata ang malalalim na paghinga nito dahil maliit na pangangatawan. Itinaas ng bahagya ni Sareena ang Kama sa may uluhan ng matanda upang makita ang bisita.

"Lola, andito na po si Sir, yung tatay ng anak ni Tita Denzel." malumanay na sabi ni Sareena sa matanda, dahan dahan upang tila ay maintindihan nito.

She seated beside the old woman's bed and offered the only chair they had to him but he refused.

Denzel was the late child of the old lady. Her sickness made her look old. Kitang kita ang kulubot at pangangayayat ng katawan nito. She looked up to him with sad but hopeful eyes, looking pitiful. She slowly raised her weak and trembling hands as if trying to reach him, now looking at him shedding tears in her eyes. She stumbled to mumble a word and ended saying none.

Sareena reached the old woman's shaking hands trying to suppressed her tears. "Nang malaman ni Lola na nahanap ko po kayo, gusto niya po kayong makita. Hindi po siya makapagsalita dahil sa mahinang katawan Pero Alam ko at nakikita kong nagsisisi siya sa mga nangyari kina Tita Denzel at tita Dina."

The old woman murmured something but Andrew could only see them while standing near them. The ward only provide a chair for each bed, and some guardians bring their own monobloc or find a comfortable place in the almost crowded room.

Sareena went closer to her Lola and listen intently, nodding her head. Then she looks at his direction with hesitant eyes. She was about to say something when the door opened and a nurse came in with trays of medicine at isa isang binigyan ang mga pasyente sa loob ng ward.

The old lady can't take solid foods, and they only rely on injected food medicine. Pagkaalis ng nurse ay naidlip na ang matanda. Sareena help her grandmother to lie on the bed and sleep.
