It's my cat, not the one who died a couple of days ago, I'm still trying to find a picture of her that doesnt revile my face. This one is still alive, she is 16, rude to almost everyone, terrified of children, and only is comfortable around me, and my dad. I love her. Actually she was the reason I made Night, Night was originally based off of her.

Darkpaw looked up at the stars, his eyes moving from one to the next, wondering which one could be Mistkit.

"You're here early" A feminine voice sounded behind him.

He turned around the see the beautiful rogue she-cat Night, her green eyes shining like emeralds, and her black fur and white fur turning different shades of silver in the bright moonlight.

The two young cats had been meeting in secret for almost a moon now, each day they seemed to get bolder and forget about Darkpaw's duties as a apprentice and meet up earlier everyday.

She sat next to the Shadowclan apprentice, her gaze following his, "Trying to find Mistkit again?" Darkpaw nodded slowly, before turning his gaze to an area in the sky where no stars shown, the black and blue sky darkened as if the stars were moving farther away from it.

"Scarpaw and his siblings are soon going to be ready for their warrior assessments." Darkpaw said softy, seeming much more calm here and now than any other time with his clanmates.

Night turned her green gaze to Darkpaw, "That's good for them, and no doubt you'll be joining them soon enough." Darkpaw smiled a little bit, "I can already beat all three of them in battle one-on-one."

Night leaned against Darkpaw's scarred broad shoulder, and they sat together in silence for a while, letting the soft cool breeze of the night ruffle their pelts.

The night passed quickly, soon causing the sky to brighten as the sun came close to climbing over the mountains as dawn approached.

"I should go, I have the dawn patrol with Eagelpaw, my father's favorite instrument of torture." Darkpaw growled rolling his light amber eyes. Night purred with amusement, "I'm sure when you become leader one day all that will change"

One of the things the two talk about a lot is the future, most preferable the future where Darkpaw become the leader of Shadowclan. (And other things)

Darkpaw trotted away from Night with a tail flick as a goodbye as he entered the marsh that made up most of Shadowclan territory.

He walked into camp right as Eaglepaw was emerging from the apprentice den, the brown tabby turned and glared at the younger apprentice before growling, "Where were you, you weren't in your nest where you're supposed to be?"

"Relax, I just went to make dirt before the patrol."

Only a few times Darkpaw had a close call like this, and every time he would come up with another random excuse that he feared soon others would start to see through.

Before any snappy comments could start to be thrown between the two Midnight and Thornflower padded into the red and orange dawn sunlight from the gloomy shade of the warriors den.

"Alright! Today we are checking the Skyclan border!" Midnight called happily, his pale blue eyes sparkling.

Darkpaw couldn't understand how the former rogue could be so happy, they could live free without any rules before the ties of the clan rules bound them together, and his mentor seemed happier being a clan cat than a rogue.

Thornflower was scanning his apprentice, as if looking for faults in the young tom, which shouldn't be that hard, Eaglepaw was a major fault himself.

It wasn't long before the four toms arrived at the Skyclan border and started walking along the scent line, occasionally marking the border every couple of fox-lengths.

Thornflower had been testing Eaglepaw almost the entire way about the warrior code and was now lecturing him on the borders, which Eaglepaw was looking very bored and just randomly nodding every couple seconds. This torture to the older apprentice was amusing Darkpaw, which brightened his day more than anything had in a long time.

Eaglepaw and his mentor went off to do his warrior assessment, still being lectured, Midnight's ears perked, he moved into a hunting crouch and he stalked off into the bushes.

Silence dawned in the forest as Thornflower's voice faded and Darkpaw wandered closer to the Skyclan border, away from the rest of the patrol.

He froze as he saw a Skyclan apprentice hunting, the little tortoishell red and white she-cat was oblivious as she wandered closer and closer to the Shadowclan territory.

A small evil smile came across his face as a idea formed in his head, the she-cat had spotted a rabbit on the border, and Darkpaw stalked towards the young Skyclan apprentice.
