Scarface and Darkspirit padded back through the trees and back into Shadowclan camp, the tension between the two completely disappeared.

As they stepped into camp they realized that the clan was gathered around Dawnstar, and they had just walked in on a clan meeting.

"Hmm, Darkspirit, Scarface, you almost missed the meeting." Rapidriver snapped, his dark blue eyes glittering with anger, like they normally do.

Dawnstar nodded at the two Toms before turning back to the others, "Redkit, Blackkit, Stagkit, and Breezekit, step forward."

The four kits followed his command quickly, Sunlight, Shimmerwave, and Midnight were watching, their eyes glimmering with pride, "You have reached the age of 6 moons and it is time for your apprenticeship."

Darkspirit sat down next to Rockfang and Eagleflight, along with Scarface. Eagleflight just gave him a disgusted look and took a step away from him.

"Stagkit, though your blindness may put you at a disadvantage, I will not strip away your chance to become a warrior. From now until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Stagpaw, your mentor will be Scarface."

Stagpaw bounced with joy and scampered off, finding Dawnstar's youngest son and reaching up, booping his nose. Darkspirit knew why he chose Scarface, when he had gotten his scar he had been temporarily blind In one eye, and it had grown slightly better as he grew, but his blindness would help him understand how to help the young apprentice.

"Redkit, Blackkit, and Breezekit, from now until your get your warrior names you will be known as Redpaw, Blackpaw, and Breezepaw, your mentors will be Whitepatch, Eagleflight, and Crowwing."

The newly named apprentices went to greet their new mentors, each touching noses with them and sitting next to them, their chests puffed out in pride.

"Now I have one last announcement," Dawnstar called, before anyone could chant the apprentices names, "Bramblepaw, Leafpaw, and Treepaw, step forward."

The three older apprentices exchanged surprised and excited glances, slowly stepping forward. "You have shown great advances in your apprenticeship and it is time for you to become warriors."

The Shadowclan leader dropped off the branch and stood in front of Treepaw, "From this day on you will be known as Treefall, we honor your strength and welcome you as a full warrior of Shadowclan."

Swiftly me moved onto Leafpaw, "From this day forward you will be known as Leafblossom, we honor your knowledge and welcome you as a full warrior of Shadowclan." Lastly he turned to Bramblepaw, "From now on you will be known as Bramblefang, we honor your courage and welcome you as a full warrior of Shadowclan."

"Blackpaw, Redpaw, Breezepaw, Stagpaw, Bramblefang, Leafblossom, Treefall!" The warriors chanted, their calls ringing through the sunlit sky.

Bramblefang shoved through the congratulating warriors and bounded over to Darkspirit, "Thank you, I dont think I would've had the will to continue training if it wasnt for your help."

Darkspirit dipped his head in reply, watching the young warrior bound off with his siblings.

(Small time skip)

It wasn't long until the apprentices vigil started as the sun began to set. Its beautiful purple and orange glow lit up the top of the pines.

Darkspirit layed down in his nest, his head resting on his paws, his scarred muzzle nustling into the moss in front of him as he drifted into sleep.

When he opened his dark amber eyes again he was exactly where he wanted to be, back in the Dark Forest.

He padded through the forest, a cold shiver traveling down his spine as he entered the clearing. Everyone was already gathered there, from all five clans. The entire clearing was chattering like birds in the morning.

"Me and my siblings are now apprentices, and were gonna be the best warriors ever." Heronpaw of Riverclan boasted, Tatteredkit and Flamekit sitting next to her. "And we're becoming apprentices next moon." Flamekit butted in, smiling.

Redpaw and Blackpaw were in the corner, talking to Wolfbite, Sizzleflame, and Hailsky. "I bet I'll be able to become a warrior in less than 3 moons." Blackpaw snapped, lifting his nose in the air.

Redpaw nudged him, "Yeah right, even the best warrior couldn't become a warrior In that amount of time." He snorted in disbelief.

Darkspirit smiled slightly, then turned away padding towards the training rock. The dead silence now filled the air and the former rings of the chatter in the clearing behind him completely faded away.

When he arrived a cold sensation filled him and he shuddered. Suddenly he stopped in his tracks, the training rock was now split in half, and some sort of dark vines were growing out of the large crack.

He glanced around, a sickening feeling filling him when he suddenly realized that he wasnt alone and someone, or something was watching him.

"Darkspirit... a strong, smart warrior," A deep voice hissed, it sounded like Darkspirit, but it was deeper and more distorted, "You'll do perfectly."

"What do you want, who are you?" Darkspirit snapped, nervousness growing inside him and he unsheathed his long claws.

A low chuckle echoed around him, "I thought you would recognize," A mist brushed past him and formed a figure, causing Darkspirit to jump back, "yourself."

Standing in front of him was himself, shrouded with mist.

"H-How?" Darkspirit stuttered, his mist form chuckled again before taking a step towards him and brushing his tail over Darkspirit's mouth, "Be quiet and stay still, it will hurt less like that."

Darkspirit's amber eyes widened as the mist departed and the vines went into action, bursting from the ground and wrapping itself tightly around his legs, tying Darkspirit to the ground, limiting him movement.

The more Darkspirit tried to move and escape the vines grew tighter, soon growing thorns and scratching along his legs, letting him hiss in pain.

Before Darkspirit to call out a larger vine rose from the ground, snaking it's way up his leg, chest, neck, all the way to his face, "No-" He tried again but the vine wrapped itself around his mouth twice.

Next the vine parted his jaws forcefully, and without warning, shot itself into his mouth, forcing it's way down his throat. Darkspirit whimpered with pain as it continued down, down towards his lungs, parting it's way to go deeper.

Darkspirit tried to claw his way out, tears brimming at the edges of his eyes when his breathing was cut off as the vines went deeper into his lungs.

Soon he felt his lashes to free himself weakening, his breath shortening, and the life fading out of him. He was silently panicking, tears starting to spill down his face.

He closed his eyes, letting his life flash before his eyes, his desperation to escape gone, and he felt himself go limp.

And with a flash, everything around him disappeared and his terrified dark amber eyes shot open.

The real monster is coming.
